Sophie of Brandenburg (1568-1622) was a German regent, Electress of Saxony by marriage to Christian I, Elector of Saxony. She was the regent from 1591 to 1601 during the minority of their son Christian II.

Blanche of Castile (1188-1252) was the Queen Consort of King Louis VIII of France. She acted as regent twice during the reign of her son, King Louis IX. The first was during his minority from 1226 until 1234. The second time occurred during Louis' absence from 1248 until 1252.

Magnus VII of Norway (1316-1374) reigned from 1317 to 1355. His mother Ingeborg of Norway was the regent from 1319 to 1327.

John I was King of France as the posthumous son and successor of King Louis X for the five days he lived in 1316. His uncle Philip of Potiers was the regent.

In 1682 the Boyar Duma chose ten year old Peter to become Tsar of Russia with his mother as regent. However, Peter and Ivan V were proclaimed joint Tsars with their sister Sophia as regent.
