Royal Exclusive: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have whisked their family off on a staycation as they enjoyed a sunny bike ride today
I hope they release a few photos. The Sicilly Isles are dependent on tourism for 85% of their revenue. They really need the exposure, and a few cute pictures of the Cambridge children would do more than an entire advertising campaign. Cheaper, too.

I like how people are discovering their own backyard and taking mini trips. I took a week on a beach vacation with my family and a close friend halfway between Northern and Southern California. It was a nice getaway. Other major trips had been cancelled.

Good for them bringing the kids to the Isles.

Oh where did you go along the  Central California coast? Cambria? Santa Barbara?  Smiley

Close! Cayucos, which is between Morro Bay and Cambria. A sleepy little beach/surf town that is sunnier than its northern and souther neighbor towns. Population 2500.

Apparently Charles, Diana and the boys visited in 1989.

Boy, Diana and Charles never really looked very comfortable together. Anyway, cute picture, but who wears a tie and jacket to bike riding?

In the early days they did. Iíve seen some lovely pictures of them where they looked genuinely in love. By the time these pics were taken, I think the war was well and truly underway.

Agree that they did look in love in the earlier days but things fell apart completely after Harry was born. Iím betting only Diana and the boys were out bike riding and when the photogs showed up (anonymous tip) they pulled Charles from having lunch somewhere and put him on this bike.

I think it was a scheduled photoshoot.

Charles and Diana were good about doing one at the beginning of their trips so then they could enforce privacy.

Anyone else take a quick look at the food in the picture and think -  why would they put the food out in foil pans - before doing a double take? Just me, then. Okay . . . .  Blink

Looks like a take away curry. They tend to be delivered in foil containers in the UK

If that is Chicken Tikka Masala, that is a freakin' brilliant statement about diversity, unity and the COMMONWEALTH.
Cor blimey! W&K are goood!

In 2001, British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook mentioned the dish in a speech acclaiming the benefits of Britain's multiculturalism, declaring:
..."    Chicken tikka masala is now a true British national dish, not only because it is the most popular, but because it is a perfect illustration of the way Britain absorbs and adapts external influences. "

EDIT: wrong pic! it's chicken tandoori!
Chicken tandoori is a crispy  oven chicken with no sauce  http://www.flavorquotient.com/2013/08/tandoori-chicken/ .  That  looks like my very favorite, chicken tikka masala. Now if you can find an indian place that does a peshwari naan, which has dried fruit and coconut  mmmmm-mmmmm-MMM! Here is a recipe to give you an idea. https://www.archanaskitchen.com/peshwari-naan

DoV: there were two pics. There was another pic with the silverware that had chicken tandoori in it with the menu from a tandoori take-away on table.
