Good luck Champagne

Where are you going in Denmark? There are many things to see around the country - and more castles than the royal ones Wink

I remember visiting It as a child and still It left a mark (I'm afried Versailles was more forgetable to me)
It's absolutely dreamy  how I would love living there  and I remeber a lovely forest near It
Form all the castles that I've seen in France this was my favorite

I remember going there with my French Club trip; it was my first live view of a castle.  What an impression it made on me too.  Very surreal.  The stables were just as beautiful as the main house.

Wasn't that castle in James Bond 007: A View to a Kill? (1985)

I think it would be more interesting if we could find pictures of interior part of castles.
I found one http://www.chateaudusse.fr/index.html
Sorry the text is in French only but we can see pictures of exterior and interior part of the castle.

According to imdb, the castle in A View to a Kill was not Chenonceaux, but Chantilly Castle, near Paris:

Here is a view of Chantilly Castle:

Biltmore House, the largest private home in the US...located in western North Carolina.  It was the summer home of a branch of the DuPont family.  Not a bad little summer cabin, eh?

Those two castles have some similarities.  Thanks for the info!  Blush

(I'd take either one if offered...) Smiley

Hearst Castle, San Simeon, California.  It was built during the 1920's.  The architect was a woman!  Very unusual in those days.

I've always wanted to see that house...

It was modelled after Chateau de Blois in the Loire Valley:

Here's their website:

Here's the current owner:Bill Cecil,President & CEO,The Biltmore Company...wonder if he's single...

I've always loved Biltmore.  It's still owned by Vanderbilt descendants after all these years.  Speaking of Vanderbilts, here's another one of their charming cottages...
