^ Yes, and it becomes harder to host any board on whatever subject if half of the current "features" cant be discussed because people are a weeeee bit off their rockers when it comes to their favorites and see insults where none are meant. If, for example, I were to say, "Gee, she (whomever) would look so much better if her hair was not hanging in her face", it's not a death throw down, you know? It's just it would be nice to see (whomever) her face... Many times the same  thing was said about the SIL when she first married in, until she learned to cope. I don't remember people being this hysterical about that, but maybe it's selective amnesia on my part.

It comes to something when a thread titled 'Please keep the discussions civil' goes severely off-piste.  If ever you needed to point to something as to why this can't be managed, this thread is it.

I took some years off some Spanish royal board for the same reason, out of the blue I realized you were either a fan or a hater of the then Crown Princess, and current queen. There was no middle ground, and some users went from friendly to nasty just because... the admins had to ban several users and moderate the forum constantly, the whole situation got out of hands; I really don't get the point where people forget we are dishing about royals, in this case, who don't give a damn about what we say. It's a pity it had come to this, especially now when there are lot of jokes/witty remarks we could make on them, still, it is what is.

I think it was perfect timing to shut it down with Handbag's Love Shield 2.0 and the real wackadoodle trolls coming out. I'm surprised actually that Maria was brave enough to open the threads up to all and sundry!

Maria and Thomas, I appreciate you both so much. This place means a lot to me and all the people in it. Thanks for being patient with us, I know there are times when I get carried away too and I'm sorry for any stress I may cause.  Hug

I know it probably doesn't always feel like it, but the admins should really take it as a compliment. They have created a board that causes so much joy and passion.

I notice there are fewer Twitter posts from the usual RF posters about the mental health push on October 10. Their SM postings have dropped a bit. Fred should continue to hone his air force schooo

I am a big-time lurker, and have made two posts over the span of many years, and I just want to thank Maria and the moderators for all of the time and effort they put into this site.  I’m bummed that the threads of those whom I will not name have been shut down because this was my first place to look for new pics and information, but I’m not the one who had to keep a close on eye it and take time out of my life to online babysit.  So, THANK YOU!  Many of us who don’t ever post still appreciate the work that goes into it!

This is the sweetest message! And so true, I also lurked for about five years before setting an account.
