From Blind Gossip:

https://blindgossip.com/a...hie-lannister/#more-98516

"With the arrival of little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor comes a lot of commentary from the public about the first name that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose for their son.

However, the public are not the only ones with an opinion!

A member of the royal family quietly made a snarky remark about the non-traditional name.

[They] said, “It’s not exactly a proper name, is it? More of a nickname… or a name you’d give a baby born in Flea Bottom!”

The comment is especially amusing as it gave away the royal as being a Game of Thrones fan! You see, Flea Bottom is a poor neighborhood near King’s Landing, the residence of the Lannister family.

Who knew that real royals liked to watch fictional royal families duke it out on TV?

At least Archie’s last name isn’t Lannister!"

I say it is Andrew.  If it were Phillip, it would have been something much more crude.
I'm very suspicious about this gossip. I cannot imagine Philip watching GoT and I believe Andrew doesn't even care about Harry's family, maybe he cares only if he sees that the new baby will have more privileges than the York girls. If this is true, Anne could be the one, but again I'm not sure if it's true, it's not a general opinion but something very specific and I don't know how this could become known to someone outside the close circle of the family, assuming that most of them are very carefull who's listening when having such private conversations.

This has Anne written all over it. The comment just reads in the exact way she speaks. Which, if made up, was done by someone familiar with Anne’s quipppy one and two liners.

It most certainly does sound like Anne. Andrew would probably just silently pout in a corner and Edward (Sophie really  ) would pretend to show interest.

I remember when George or Charlotte, i can't remember, was born a reporter asked Anne about it and she basically said, "why the **** should I care it doesn't have anything to do with me."  Remember the whole blood princess, bowing, order of presence in private thing was due to Anne throwing a hissy fit about having to go behind Camilla when not in public (or something like that). The Queen changed protocol just because of Anne's hissy fit. She's a very selfish self centered snob.

There is no unity in this family whatsoever and that's really dangerous for an institution that needs it more then anything.

It's been said that the Queen is a fan of game of thrones, I think that became apparent when she visited the set in northern Ireland 🤔
I can't see Anne watching got but can see either her, Philip, Andrew or Queenie herself saying it 😂
Or princess Michael... Was she the one who had a bit of beef with Meghan or something?

I hardly think older, posh women watch GoT. I think it is Mike Tindall. He fits the bill, as someone who watches it, and also has a few friends that I imagine can be a bit gossipy.

Back to GoT, re old women. I am old-ish and posh-ish (not really, but I would love to be).
I started watching it last year when my sons watched it, and I love Walking Dead, the more gore the better.
I gave up after three episodes, as it was etremely boring, and I didnt like any of them.

I started again last month, because everyone loves it, what is wrong with me? This time I lasted five episodes, and now I have officially quit. God, such an overhyped show.

And I know that Mike Tindall is not a member of the royal family, but that is a detail I dont think anyone will let stand in way for a good story.

My childhood (and adult) cats were all named Harry. I kid you not. However my daughter did not like the name for the last one we had, so she renamed him Muscha.

In German this one in particular is a no, no for naming anything. Changing a letter at the end to i it's used as a vulgar expression for vagina.

I would've stayed with Harry.

Real posh. Oh my, if only!!
I've never seen a scene of GoT,even though a reluctant friend was encouraged by her sister , watched the series and in turn recommended it to me.
Nope. I watch and read what makes me happy and relaxed .Why am I writing about this here? Sorry, my mind wanders.Something about someone craving for a throne?

The things you learn on this board!

My mother always wanted a cat named Henry. She settled for a bulldog named Margaret Rose.

It is their first baby. They might need time to adjust. They had to do the official photo op and if they see the baby a week later ... I don't think that is too spectacular. Charles and Camilla were in Germany for some days since the baby was born.

Whereas I 'm not against Ms Ragland being in the picture, had they better not have waited for ,at least,  the baby's grandpa standing  next to her in their first family photo? They took the trouble to walk on those soft Windsor carpets two days after the birth, she was delighted to tell the world about meeting and having met VIPs immediately.Could the family photo have waited a bit longer, until his father had come back? Oh yes, TT RR HHs are doing things their way and the rest of the family have to step in TTRRHHs' line too.

I've never watched GoT - we don't have cable or use streaming etc. Just plain old over the air broadcast TV. I'm oldish and not posh - unless it would be the live in the country and not care what anyone thinks kind of posh?

I think Mike Tindall just might fit the bill for the quote.

We have had many many cats, and a few dogs - some with names that are proper names for people but I would never ever name a child for a pet. I don't even reuse pet names.

Charles and Camilla are in Germany. I'm sure seeing little Archie will be one of the first things they do once they get back. I don't fault Will and Kate either. Life can get in the way and they'll see him eventually too. I know it's the Daily Fail but for crying out loud aren't there other things to report on?

I really want the little guy to be a ginger like his Dad.

Good point. After all the hullabaloo they made, they could have waited.

Exactly.  No one should be surprised considering that we have no idea where the Sussex family was on Monday, we know Charles and Camilla were in Germany from Tuesday until Friday, William and Kate has various engagements from Tuesday through Friday, and if they want to being the kids the weekend is easier any way.

But no it’s all OMG no one loves Archie.  Lord save us from these people.

Is it a real family picture? I think it’s very cute that the great-grandparents wanted to see the little newborn as soon possible. And when the child is introduced to the Queen and the DoE it should be documented.

I appreciate that Doria is included in the picture even if Charles was not there. It’s a touching picture since we don’t know how many children the QE and DoC will be able to welcome in the family. And what’s more it’s a strong statement. What is the saying? A picture is worth a thousand words (or stroppy letters.)

I like that photo of the Queen & Philip with H&M & Archie & Doria.  I think it captures a normal sort of family moment with real people meeting a new baby, with the proud new parents and great-grandparents looking like normal human beings all wearing normal human expressions for such a moment.  The fact the Queen is one of the participants doesn't matter; in this group she is just the great-grandmother.  The fact Doria is in there with them adds to this; she is the baby's grandmother looking on and is an important part of the family group.   It's a shame Charles isn't there but he was away and couldn't be there.  I have no doubt there will be lots more photos with Charles in them when he's back.

I don't think it matters that Charles isn't there.  It's a newborn baby and the child will have no idea his paternal grandfather isn't there.  Charles will have seen pics and I don't think it matters if he doesn't see the baby (I still have trouble using the poor child's name) for a week or so.
