Apparently, Haz and Megs are hell bent and determined to keep the location and medical personnel of Doug’s birth top secret.

Why? At the end of the day, why does it matter so much to them? I’m aware of where all of the other royal children were birthed and I could not give a one single f*ck. Trying to hide it however, makes me wonder if there’s something to hide?!

I don't know if they did it with Charlotte and Louis,but I remember very well that  William and Kate went outside and talked with the press,greeting the well-wishers too. There was a genuine sense of celebration and joyfulness. [/quote]



Don't forget:  Kate and William were presenting the future King of England (and siblings as they came).  Harry and Meghan are not.  It's not *quite* the same thing, in my opinion.  In line with Charles' "slimming of the Monarchy", Archie is 7th in line and will not have any Royal Family "work" (other than standing on the balcony for Trooping etc).

All babies wear the beanies to keep in body heat.  They can't regulate it yet, and most of the body's heat leave through the head.

That would make sense, though I still don't see it as a good enough reason for the cloak and dagger secrecy.  Kate still managed to sneak into the place she had her children and could have snuck out again if she had wanted to.  However, perhaps the entrances to the place Meghan gave birth are more exposed and there is not the opportunity to sneak in and out and I do understand the desire to enter and exit without being hounded by the media when she's not feeling up to a photocall.

Those private hospitals are just that.  Private.  They even allow mothers to register under a alias.  That will be interesting to see, how fast she gets pregnant again. She is 38 and I doubt she will want to wait a couple of years to get pregnant.

And it is simply very odd to have such a tantrum about where that baby is born. It has nothing to do with privacy and all to protect Meghan's image of the crunchy hippie California home birth mother. (I live in there. I know lots of women like this.)

You also don't yank the chain and burn through the goodwill of those who finace your lifestyle. Charles may fund them apart from security (which must be a pretty penny) but where, ultimately, does Charles' money come from? The Duchy of Cornwall. Now I've no doubt that there are lots of investments etc., and Harry has an inheritance from his mother (Duchy money at the heart of that too?) but at the end of it all, he and Meghan are taxpayer funded.
All this secrecy may very well come back and smack them in the face. It's not the Hollywood/celebrity world they are living in. If they want it to be, that can be arranged.
