I think he will be Dumbarton at school, like Charles Spencer was "Althorp"  and  the current Earl of Snowdon was "Linley"

I thought if they wanted to go lower key that's what they do.  That is why Wills and Harry were  "Rank" Wales in the military.

I am sticking with:

Thomas Wayne Samuel Sussex Junior

HRH Meghan will most definitely want to honour her father and siblings especially given they were unable to attend her wedding last year.

Remember what HRH Harry told the Queen: what Meghan wants, Meghan gets.

Thus it be so: Prince Thomas.

But definitely not “Tommy” for short. He will probably just be known as and go by “Wayne from Windsor”.

Bless.

I think the last thing Meghan wants to do is honor anyone from the paternal side of her family given how they’ve treated her in the past year.

My guess is Alexander Charles Henry Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton

I think Alexander Philip Charles Henry.
I don’t think there will be much of an ‘American’ influence a season people have said.
I’ve also heard Spencer being thrown about as a first name contender, I don’t think that will happen.

Given Grandpa Philip's great age and fragility, it would be lovely to honor him  while he's still here by naming the child Philip. Philip Sussex. I can see it on name tags for when he goes off to boarding school.

But I'm thinking there will be a curve ball in there somewhere and than an African name will sneak somwhere into the long name sequence given to royal children.  Harry has always had such a love of Africa and I think Meghan does as well.

Had to think of "Phil sucks"  Blush

Alexander Spencer Philip Mountbatten-Windsor, Earl of Dumbarton

It’ll be interesting to see how things go when Charles becomes king. There’s no precedent for a great-grandchild being born untitled and then being elevated by their grandparent’s accession. The letters patent is a little vague.

I bet Alexander is one of the names because it's the kind of name that an American thinks is fancy and posh. I don't think this generation has the understanding about naming children after living relatives so no Philip even though its a nice name. Maybe George for Clooney? But cousin George already has that name and Alexander so I don't know. It would be nice to have the name John appear even though its been off limits time for the tradition busting couple to bring it back. Godparents will include Clooney and Oprah or Serena? Zara for sure or Mike? Are they close to the Sussexes?

Alexander or Philip as the first name. The Queen will create the HRH now for this little boy and any other children they may have.
So he will be HRH Prince Alexander or HRH Prince Philip. IMO

Albert "Bertie" Philip Charles, Earl of Dumbarton.
Please don’t name him Prince Albert! That would ensue so much teasing.

I would like Frederick for the first name, or even something like Edmund, Edward, or Owen.

That has a ring to it - but I hope they don't go with an old fashioned name

I doubt this child will be "Prince xxx". Had Charles been King at the time of his birth it would have been a different story.

Edmund would be nice as a first name. There has not been a British Royal with the first name of Edmund in years.

If the Queen was going to issue the Letters Patent she would have done so by now surely. She has had many months to do so. She issued the Letters Patent for all of William's children within a few weeks of the announcement of Catherine's first pregnancy.

If this child is ever going to be a Prince I believe he will have to wait until Grandpa Wales is the King.
