Alexander or Philip as the first name. The Queen will create the HRH now for this little boy and any other children they may have. So he will be HRH Prince Alexander or HRH Prince Philip. IMO
If the Queen was going to issue the Letters Patent she would have done so by now surely. She has had many months to do so. She issued the Letters Patent for all of William's children within a few weeks of the announcement of Catherine's first pregnancy. If this child is ever going to be a Prince I believe he will have to wait until Grandpa Wales is the King. The only other elevating I can think of is those of Edward VIII, George VI and their sister Mary. They were all born as HH since being the great grandchildren of then monarch only. Appearantly Victoria only issued a letter patent later on so they became HRHs. But this case here really has never been.

I bet Alexander is one of the names because it's the kind of name that an American thinks is fancy and posh. I don't think this generation has the understanding about naming children after living relatives so no Philip even though its a nice name. Maybe George for Clooney? But cousin George already has that name and Alexander so I don't know. It would be nice to have the name John appear even though its been off limits time for the tradition busting couple to bring it back. Godparents will include Clooney and Oprah or Serena? Zara for sure or Mike? Are they close to the Sussexes?
Well, Alexander is not his first name, so this wouldn't be a problem. But I just find the name so boring.

I think the HH title also went in the reforms of 1917 so it is no longer an option - the BRF over the last 102 years has been much more into "downgrading" and limiting titles

Albert "Bertie" Philip Charles, Earl of Dumbarton.
That has a ring to it - but I hope they don't go with an old fashioned name hahahahaha

I agree - I think this child won't have a prince/princess title. I had originally believed that the baby would, but now that he's arrived without a patent letter, I can only assume that his parents are choosing either to limit his title or he won't have one at all.

In any case, it does not matter really, not that much given how things work at the BRF. Their children will all be HRH in due time, as long as Charles manages to outlive his mother. Mummy managed to live beyond her 100th year, so I don't see why her eldest won't do the same. Charles is healthy, so nothing to worry about there.
This, of course, unless Charles chooses to even downgrade the family even more, but for what he has told, he wants to reduce it to both him, his wife, Camilla, his children, spouses and children. The Wessex took the right path before the issue was even raised, so that was a right call. Same goes for Anne, the only one who hasn't adapted yet to reality is Andrew.

I think it would be hypocritical of Charles to expect Andrew to accept his downgraded status but then to give Harry and his child/children a prominent place in the family. Harry will be the second son of the monarch, so if Andrew and his offspring aren't to be part of the nucleus of the family going forward, that same rule should apply to Harry (and to Louis and Charlotte's future families). If we are to have a royal family, titles should be restricted to the direct line. If something awful happens, any given person could be promoted to HRH along with their new status. It's a lot easier to give that title than it is to take it away.

I just want to know what titles they put on the birth certificate. For Lil Sussex and themselves.
I do think he'll be "ABC, Earl of Dumbarton" or HH ABC
What will Harry and Megan have as occupation: Prince/ss of UK? Humanitarian? Philanthropist? Retired veteran/ actress?

Definitley "Humanitarian," must make sure the people are reminded of that fact Though I am curious as to what they'll name him. Not sure if someone has already said this but my bet is on James Philip Spencer, or Arthur Spencer Philip. Personally I just hope they don't pick Henry as as first name because I want to be able to use that name one day without people assuming I copied the Sussex baby name

Philip Victor Nicholas Gerald could be used as a middle name.
