I didn't know that Isabel was the spanish version of Elizabeth. I thought they were two different names. Denmark's Isabella was named after the spanish version of the name or there was an other story behind her name?
Apologies for going out of topic, it just made me really curious and I have never thought the two names being actually the same.

Ahead of King Willem-Alexander investiture into the British Order of the Garter later today, The Netherland Royal Archives shares the items worn by King Willem I (1st King of Netherlands) during his Investiture in 1814.

The elaborate details on this Order of the Garter outfit from 1814 show how little has changed in two centuries.

Thanks for posting this DoS, it was very interesting.

They've now got the Shield of St. George surrounded by the Garter symbol embroidered on the mantle - that's really the only major change, besides possibly the color. This one might be slightly darker than the present ones. The one shown has been very carefully preserved.

Yes, they are all versions of the same name. For the Spaniards, Elizabeth is Isabel, but many times the English translate Isabel as Isabella.

Infanta Isabel of Austria, granddaughter of Isabel the Catholic, was queen of Denmark.

Icecream Lolipop Icecream Icecream Lolipop too!

I love how subtle Letizia's dress is, very elegant. Max looks lovely too, and I love that cape effect.

Sigh. When ever I see HM with either of these couples I am reminded how tiny she is now.
