He undertook an official engagement at Windsor Castle last Friday according to the CC:

Court Circular 21st June:
Windsor Castle

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Rifles, this afternoon received General Sir Nicholas Carter upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and General Patrick Sanders upon assuming the appointment.


That would suggest he is fine - for a 98 year old gentleman.
