After that first photo call, she realized when Harry holds the baby, she can be cropped out of the photo. He hasn’t held him in public since.

More and more, this is all about her.  She gets to hold baby Archie, she wears expensive clothes, and Harry is ordered to hold her hand, because, you know, she is so special. I almost feel sorry for Harry, having to put up with all this.  Maybe the reason he can't get out of bed is being married to a woman like that. And insisting that Archie is a private citizen, then showing him off in Africa? He is a member of the British Royal Family, after all, shouldn't the Brits have had the privilege, since they pay all the bills? And he got out of bed fast enough when going to Nice and Ibiza, with nary a thought as to the problems of the world to which they are very nicely contributing. Sorry for the rant! Ranting

Imagining how Meghan must be with other people in her life. Sit down on the floor! Now! You don't want to do that? I thought I was very clever and am showing how fun and compassionate I am so I can be on the floor! Let's donate my child's old clothes because you don't deserve expensive things like my child does.

It is the Meghan Show.

I'm not a person who thinks every baby is cute.  So I won't comment because I'd be against the average opinion here.

LOL. I don't think he is the cutest baby I've ever seen.  He looks like his dad with a hint of Megan's father.  I expect he'll grow up to be a looker like his dad.  I agree that it was clever PR to have his first public outing with Archbishop Tutu.

Excuse me is this seat taken? I’d like to sit at your table on this opinion.

I thought it would be interesting if Archie looked exactly like Megan's dad. That way she would see her father every day.  I think there is a hint of Thomas in the shape of the face.  It was a charming photo op, although a poster on another board stated that the British people should have had the first look at Archie.  Whatever the case, I think it is a very well done first look at Archie.  When they are walking and Harry calls him, it is really cute when Archie answers.

The willingness to show off baby to the commonwealth and keep him hidden at home is a complaint that’s been leveled previously against this generation of BRF.

I don’t know what the deal is, other than being willing to use their child as bait to keep commonwealth countries “sweet” so to say. “Here look at my kid, please don’t leave” .

For me the thing is their own stance on raising Archie as a private citizen and scream privacy which lead to the PR cluster of his birth and christening.  This whole generation is bonkers when it comes to their kids and it would have been nice to see Harry learn from his brother's mistakes and bad press.  Also whereas his niece and nephews really need to be seen so the public can feel positive emotions which could help with supporting the monarchy Archie really doesn't.  Harry and Meghan could have taken advice from Edward and Sophie as to how to properly raise "private citizen royal children" but instead it the Harry and Meghan show...which is just one mistake after another.  I'd be less put out if the hadn't f'd up his introduction but given how blatantly self serving their being with a child I just can't support this outside of an obligatory "oh cute kid".  He's not even being used for Commonwealth relations but solely because mummy and daddy have had one cycle of bad press after another for months now.

I like Meghan with the hair parted on the side. The middle part seems severe school headmistress.

At least that black jumpsuit isn't ridic expensive. It's from Everlane and $120, but she paired it with Manolos.

Making everybody get on the floor was the most cringe worthy thing I've seen in a while. And $20 for a pair of baby socks?!

Technically South Africa is paying for him at the moment.  Additional security and housing and I'm sure some foods (he should be on oatmeal and purees now) as well as anything else on the royal "rider".

Rant on Booklover - it's all true.

It's the Meghan Me Me Me South Africa Tour.

I would bet anything Archie is eating flew in with him on the plane.

If she behaves like that with “strangers” and in front of cameras, can you imagine how she’s with the staff?

I don’t have a problem with the price of the socks (it’s bonpoint, there isn’t much more than that in posh terms), but with how they are not pulled on the heels.

Archie is a very sweet and cute baby. Doesn’t change a single solitary thing about how I feel about his parents. I wish him the absolute best in life because every child deserves that. He’s not going to have an easy road in life with a narc mom and dimwit dad. I think Meghan looks pretty good and well put together in her black jumpsuit. That’s about the only nice thing I can say. Her behavior always betrays her sugary PR.

Archie is cute and happy. Mini Harry.
I’m glad she isn’t showing up in 15K dresses three times a day. I like the black jumpsuit and a couple of the patterned dresses have been nice.
I’m ok with all of this so far, nothing bad to say except it bothers me how she is always charging ahead of Harry. Even if it’s sexist or old fashioned or whatever I still feel like he should ‘lead’ joint engagements and instead it feels like she is in charge. If that makes sense.
