So she went to a playgroup which would seem like a natural place to bring Archie yet she didn't. Apparently he can only meet the worthy?

And mingle with the common folk?!?!? How dare you!

I cannot fault her for this one. Archie's not vaccinated yet, at least not with the vaccines he would need to travel to Africa.  It wouldn't be prudent for him to be playing with the children.

Never thought of that. Agreed.

There are no additional vaccines required for South Africa. If any child was sick I'm sure their mother would have kept them home,  and if they did bring Meghan is still going home to Archie after and could be a carrier.  If she didn't want him exposed to any germs in South Africa they should have left him home and done her 5 days in South Africa in a row and went home early to him as Harry continued on. I doubt they're staying in their hotel alone the next 5 days- he'll be exposed to the local 5-star scenes.

The solo legs of Harrys tour does require more vaccines,  but not South Africa.

Im adding this UK government finding from this year "While no London borough meets the MMR national target of 95% vaccination by two years of age, there is a 17.5 percentage point gap between the best and worst areas of the city."  So no area in London meets the herd immunity target for measles.  Archie's been to pubs and polo matches.  It's not the MMR. They wanted to control the press

What vaccines would that be, Lady Liebe?  Thinking

He wouldn't need the Yellow Fever vaccine IIRC. But for travel to South Africa in general Archie would  need Hep A, Typhoid and Malaria, and his routine Measles Mumps and Rubella.

You don't need Typhoid or Malaria for South Africa. They are in Cape Town, not in a Malaria area. He needs nothing more than the things he needs for the UK.

Vaccines only protect against so much.  How many children in daycare are too young to get MMR?  If they did have measles you think the toxic free sanitizer Meghan uses will kill those germs before she spreads them to Archie?    If Archie couldn't travel due to age,  he should be left home.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see an honest bond between mother and son ... gonna’ be problems down the road ...

No, I thought I was mean to think that.

I don’t see a strong mother/child bond. He’s a prop for her and has been since before he was born. I am sure she and Harry love Archie but it’s obvious neither one does the hard work of parenting. They probably live their lives like before and pop in for the fun stuff while the rotating nannies do the rest. A strong attachment can’t be made as much as they leave him.

 Star
She isn't maternal, in a previous life she saw pregnancy/babies as a handicap (pregnancy clause). Inasmuch as Archie brings her attention she is happy to be with him, but I have to wonder when the cameras are off and they're home (wherever that may be) if she doesn't pack him off to Harry or the nanny and do her own thing. But that may be the best thing for him.

UGH.....

Look how the woman in the red dress who came to sit on Meghan's right side loses her smile !  Laughing

Nobody in those photos looks happy/engaged including Imelda. She and Archie should have stayed home, Handbag needs some alone time to get his head straight and Imelda didn't need another free vacation.

That visit looks awkward. The woman in the red dress is over it lol. She should have left the dress on from earlier in the day or worn one of her Smartworks outfits. She looks overdressed for the visit although I do like her look in general. Just not for this particular occasion.

I had hoped they would have shelved Meg handing over second hand baby grows, or at least done it quietly... But no.

The tour is doing a good job at promoting Meghan and that guy she married. What's his name... I think he used to be famous and interesting. It'll come to me. It's doing less well at shining a light on the causes they are visiting. Or fostering UK-SA links. Or bigging up the royal family.

Also, without the arrival, visit with the president and slightly fancier reception, it doesn't feel like a royal visit. More two celebs wandering around a country in search of cute photo ops.

The baby looks like a baby to me. As long as he's happy and healthy, that's enough for me (I don't have a maternal bone in my body)

Feels the same to me.

Overall, what sticks so far is:

1) Imelda, the woman who painted herself caucasian the last 20 years of her life, is foremost a mother, a WoC and Sister to all female South African folk.

2) Handbag, the blood royal, is so depressed by the Earth's current state that he has difficulties to get up in the morning, but still hell-bent to shine lights for change (provided his wife allows him to hold the torch).

3) While I fail to see any real purpose so far, Sussex IG is adding post after post. We have 11 right now - with 29 pics/vids featuring Imelda (12 her alone, 17 with him). He is shown 20 times - thereof only 2 pics of him alone, and one video of him alone.
Talk about who wears the trousers and controls the narrative.

4) Poor kid was trotted out for a PR move 10,000 km away from home (to take take one "iconic" picture - baldy Tutu kissing baldy baby head, Imelda thrones above them, father nowhere to be seen - especially nice is the shoot in black&white, got extra post).
The only time the kid is presented on purpose, I guess, unless they decide to schlepp him also to the meeting with Mandelas widow.

Painted herself as Caucasian? In America absolutely no one would look at her and see her as Caucasian and it incredibly offensive to suggest that she has “white washed” herself for lack of a better term. It doesn’t work that way here. Nor does it take into account the still very contentious state of race relations in the US where you will be treated as black by racists if they have even the slightest inkling that you aren’t white. You don’t get a pass because you straighten your hair which is what so many of us do because for decades our natural hair was frequently treated as unprofessional especially in certain areas of the country.I’m at a loss as to why these sorts of comments keep being allowed? Race is either off topic or it isn’t. Or is it on topic and allowed to slip through as long as it is critical? The woman does enough dish worthy things without needing to resort to casual racism. Though I’m sure it does bring in the views from those seeking those sorts of opinions. No wonder a long time member and board helper left after over a decade.

Going by the number of reports it’s gotten worse and I personally find RD a less pleasant and roomy place than it used to be. Not just because of Meghan entering the scene so to speak, it’s been a long way coming. It’s entirely possible to be neutral or negative about a royal and not feel welcome in the hate party certain sections have turned into. Gaslighting posters who say this does not help either. So they leave and I can’t say I blame them.

star:

I don't post here anymore because of the BRF section. It is a hatefilled cesspit and it is quite clear that anyone who isn't 100% on board with the vitriol is not welcome and is mocked, usually passive aggressively. Add in the casual xenophobia and and as an ethnic minority Brit I think it is quite clear I'm not welcome.

The final straw for me were the comments posted by a number of people which were seemingly making excuses for the recent reports following the neo-nazi arrests. I reported them to Maria as i thought they reflected badly on the board and she responded and said nobody else had reported them. That speaks volumes.

You can hire the best PR teams in the world, they can't change poor character. They are such an abysmal failure that I agree, they're boring. So predictable. The bringing hand-me-downs to share with the peasants was so crass and patronizing, I can't believe that anyone thought that was a good idea. Dead

Whoever said they'd take Archie to their meeting with Archbishop Tutu nailed it. Archie's an adorable baby.

That was me:
[/b]
I'll bet $50 she's pregnant again. Anyone want to take that bet? Pour cement on the deal.

I would bet against you.
I am more on the "conceived in Africa"-train.

But I'd offer another one: First Archie outing at the Archnishop Tutu meeting tomorrow. They will have little Givenchy blessed by him - maximum exposure. So the holy man can step in line of those A-Listers who have already met him. Allegedly, the little man has seen more legends in their field and A-Listers than real family members so far ...

Sunshine Sucks is really predictable in their PR advise.

BTW, what is she wearing - a wrap dress over a black pencil skirt?! Looks a bit weird.

Star And I agree with every word of what you wrote, including sprog #2 being conceived in Africa. #MadeInAfrica

Megan assumed that all the women would feel comfortable sitting on the floor.  That really hit home to me the importance of the Royal Family's experienced staff, who do the research and advising before royal tours.  If the women were told to expect a very casual visit and Megan would be playing on the floor with the children, fine. IF the women dressed up for an important occasion and were asked to sit on the floor - blunder.  What are the customs in South Africa?  Do teachers sit on the floor with kids in child care centers?  Do parents?  All of these details have to be worked out in advance, I assume.

It is trying to be compassionate and failing miserably. Shows how they are thinking - I will give you things, look how kind and wonderful I am, but they're used and I'd rather donate them to you for good PR than donate them back home in the UK to the equivalent of Goodwill.
