Don't exactly know why, but her appearance in green strongly reminds me Queen Juliana of the Netherlands (d. 2004).

Kinda like the coat, the Colour is lovely and the fabric seems cozy. The dress itself is half bad, only the waist is too high for her, which makes her tummy bulge out.
Love the shoes.

So here they are, King Philippe of Belgium and Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, monarchs and first cousins.  Philippe's father, King Albert, and Henri's mother, GD Josephine-Charlotte, were brother and sister.  (King Carl Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Margrethe of Denmark are also first cousins.)

Philippe and Mathilde's arrival from Belgium by train is being described as "modern, climate-friendly, and close to the people."

I've never thought that Phil and Henri look alike, but I see a bit of a resemblance here, don't you?

Philippe was the best man at Henri and Maria Teresa's wedding in 1981.  Phil is five years younger than Henri and their birthdays are one day apart: Philippe on April 15, 1960 and Henri on April 16, 1955.  Henri's son, Guillaume, is godfather to Philippe's son, Prince Emmanuel.  Philippe's sister, Astrid, is godmother to Henri's son, Prince Sebastien.

I'm disappointed that Henri has to shoulder this visit alone, although I know we will see Gui and Stephanie, at some point.  It would have been fun if Alexandra or Felix/Claire had been added to the mix.  Nice to see that MT is included in a picture on the Cour Grand Ducal website where she is sitting next to Mathilde.

So MT can go and see their guests a few days after she had surgery and is still on sick leave but Linus couldn't be bothered to step in for her and welcome the guests  Ranting?

For a second, I thought the well-wisher in the crowd was wearing a Belgian waffle on his head! Laughing
