Me too Jumping!
As someone who is suffering from fertility problems myself and is undergoing treatments since May I can easily understand how happy they must be and I really wish her a good pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Good luck to you Marieke! May you and your partner have a happy result!

Thank you so much! It have been difficult years since we are trying to have a baby. The miscarriage last year was and is difficult to process and then the news that we need medication because my body doesn't do what is has to do. In August the news that I needed an operation because I had a cyste in my ovary and later find out that there were other things wrong in there. Starting again and changing medication in october. And now this week hearing that another attempt failed and that we have to consider taking it to another level and probably starting in some months with ivf. It has been a rough journey. But as long as there is possibility for treatment there is hope!

I'm sorry to hear that, Marieke. I wish you all the best. Hug

Congratulations to Gui and Steph. This is very happy news indeed.

Great news - I think the most awaited pregnancy in royal circles.  Wishing them well, a healthy pregnancy and delivery!

They announced late, if I'm counting correctly; she's at least 15 weeks pregnant when I take 30th May as delivery date. (Maybe they have reasons (miscarriages?) to take as much safety as possible?)

I'm very pleased for them- and have always thought that they have had losses and treatments along the way.
Well then, what are we going to call this baby ?

Oh, I'm really happy to hear that! It must be so tough to go through fertility problems, and I guess they had a difficult time. Wonderful news.

All the best to you, Marieke. I hope you won't have to wait long for your dream to come true. I've seen it happen many times and it's such a joy.

I found a bit suspicious Stephanie's attitude at the last outing - she was hiding her stomach....

Due in May ( yeah for May babies  ) so she is already past her first trimester !

This is such lovely news. I’m very happy for them and their photos are so lovely - they look thrilled.

I can imagine if they have been having fertility problems (has this even been confirmed? Perhaps they just didn’t want a baby until now?) then this news is even more wonderful.

I thought she is even close to 20 weeks and is in the second trimester. Maybe they announced later than sooner due to fertility issues. Anyway, I am very happy for them, and I wish Stephanie a safe and healthy pregnancy and can't wait to see the baby when she/he is born.

I am so happy about this announcement! I think a lot of people have been waiting for it for a long time, and if S & G have indeed had issues with fertility or miscarriages this must be a huge relief for them. Hopefully everything goes well, I can't wait to see the baby  Banana

So happy for them!!!

A May arrival would put her somewhere between 15 and 19 weeks.  Though she could be 20ish and their just saying May in case she goes late.  Whatever the reason for “delaying” the announcement is I will say that I like it when royals wait a bit to announce.  Granted some are forced to announce sooner do to complications but there’s no rule that says you must announce at 12/13 weeks.  I would think it’s nice to wait as long as possible to ensure everything is going well and to shorten the duration of the hoopla around your pregnancy as much as possible.  A lot of my friends wait until as “late” as 24 weeks (viability) to announce to the world...with family and a few people at work knowing sooner.

According to stories my mom had a relatively small belly during her pregnancies, she didn't show much. Besides that she was pregnant in the '70s and '80s, in which she was allowed to wear oversized clothing for most of the time Wink So she could keep her pregnancies hidden aka secret for a considerable long time. It was said my grandmother (maternal side) always correctly guessed my mothers pregnancies, something about seeing it in they eyes of the mother to be.
