Ok I need something happy to think about with regards to the GDF...BABY NAMES!!!  Looking at the naming convention/traditions for both families...and names they might want to honor.

Girl: Charlotte Marie Alix Theresa
Boy: Jean Marie Philippe Henri or Philippe Henri Marie Guillaume

The boy's name was much easier than my weak girls name and I gave both my girl's name and first boy's name "Marie" as a second name as that appears to be tradition on Stephanie side of the family.  The seconds boy choice has the "Marie Guillaume" that appear to be very common in the GDF.  Is "Marie" a Catholic thing?  Virgin Mary?  My Protestant is showing.

Yes it is something that is done for boys in Catholic royal families and was more common a couple generations ago amongst everyday catholic families in the states (at least amongst those of Southern European immigrant stock)

I love the thought of "Alix" for a girl, Princess Alix of Luxembourg sounds so nice.

Boys names - I hope they will avoid Henri or Jean - not that there's anything wrong with those names and of course there's the family connection.  I just prefer something a bit more zingy but still family-oriented, perhaps Xavier?  I love the French pronounciation of that name ..

I'd give a pass to Jean for a boy .... no way should MT be recognised at all .... Alix works for me ... no Maria or any version of it

Felix's Kids:

Amalia Gabriela Maria Teresa

Liam Henri Hartmut

Interesting that MT comes after Claire's mother while Henri goes before Claire's father.  Thinking

It can also be the flow of names, or so.

For example according to family my niece is named after both grandmothers (by concidence the same "base" name). As they didn't like the sound of this "base" name directly after the choosen given name they altered the "base" name a bit.

Me too Jumping!
As someone who is suffering from fertility problems myself and is undergoing treatments since May I can easily understand how happy they must be and I really wish her a good pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Good luck to you Marieke! May you and your partner have a happy result!

Thank you!
Thank you so much! It have been difficult years since we are trying to have a baby. The miscarriage last year was and is difficult to process and then the news that we need medication because my body doesn't do what is has to do. In August the news that I needed an operation because I had a cyste in my ovary and later find out that there were other things wrong in there. Starting again and changing medication in october. And now this week hearing that another attempt failed and that we have to consider taking it to another level and probably starting in some months with ivf. It has been a rough journey. But as long as there is possibility for treatment there is hope!

I'm sorry to hear that, Marieke. I wish you all the best. Hug

Congratulations to Gui and Steph. This is very happy news indeed.

Marieke, sorry to hear about your struggle. Wishing you the best!
Perhaps today's news from S & G should give us hope that miracles happen and even couples who have had been childless for years can concieve after many-many years of trying. Most important -- never give up!!!! Perhaps the baby just wasn't ready to come before? Anyway, good luck to you, Marieke and everyone else who suffer with the same problem!!

PS: Beautiful pictures of the couple! They seem to be over the moon by the news   Thanks for posting  Star

Thank you Eve! We will never know why that baby was not meant to be born. I asked that question so many times to my gynaecologist and doctor.  Even though it was only a short time in our life , he left a huge footprint.

This makes me soooo happy! Like really happy beyond words. I know the struggles, the heartaches, the dissapointments in yourself and your partner. The hate for your own body, the envy of all the persons who got pregnant just by looking at their partner, and the physical and emotional pain the process brings along.

Really so so so happy for them!!! Less than 3 months from meeting my own little miracle, I feel like I can relate so much. I hope she has an uneventful pregnancy  Hug
And Marieke , take courage, it will come when you expect it the least.

I think it's the hope that keeps us going, as you can imagine. You can try as long as there is possibility to try and as long as you have that there is hope.
By now you must have had your small bundle of joy?! Congratulations and I hope you had an easy delivering and that you and the baby are in good health!
