Thank you principessa! Question re tiaras: if Camilla has already worn the Vladimir tiara, would Kate even be eligible  until she is queen? Could it be loaned to her? Usually, I think, someone gets loaned a tiara and they use that one for life and it’s associated with the one person.

My dream: the Queen, camilla, and Kate all wear emeralds for the visit.

Camilla never wore the Vladimir. It is one of the exclusive tiaras, for the The Queen Wink

In the BRF who get the use of what tiara(s) is upto the sovereign.  During the present reign The Queen has around 9 tiaras for her exclusive use (including Vladimir), she's loaned 3 to Camilla (Delhir Durbar, Greville, and Teck Crescent), and 3 to Kate (Halo Scroll, Lotus Flower, and Cambridge Lovers Knot).  Camilla aslo has her family's tiara.  Camilla has never been seen in the Teck Crescent and has only worn the Delhir Durbar once...she sticks with the Greville and occasionally her family tiara.  Kate has only worn the Halo Scroll once (and I think it's still on loan to Cartier) and since being loan the Cambridge sticks with that one.

All that to say that during the present reign will probably only ever seen Camilla in the Greville and Kate in the Cambridge Lovers Knot...it's boring AF but that the way Liz rolls.  Once Charles in monarch, he (or Camilla) can retool things.  Camilla as consort would have access to all the tiaras and it would be up to her as to how they were loaned out.  She could switch to a more mainland Europe model...free for all according to rank with a couple reserved for the Queen and/or Crown Princess...or she could stick with the "lifetime" loan model.  Once William's king, Catherine will have access to all the tiaras and could retool things yet again.

The BRF really needs to switch to a mainland Europe model but could still reserve the biggest of the big guns for use by The Queen, The Princess of Wales, and the heir's heir (or wife of) if there was one.  Liz is one stingy b*tch.

Sorry Thistle, I just noticed that you'd already responded.

Thank you OC and thistle. I was looking at pictures and I swear I saw one with camilla in emeralds.  With a necklace that has two strands, one shorter than the other.  ( Iím trying to keep up on my cell phone while I dry my hair and get ready for work.  Tongue )

There is this:

Could it have been photoshopped? It looks a little hinky. She's wearing two necklaces.

That's photoshopped.  Tiara photoshop is all over the place.  Stick with OSS (http://orderofsplendor.bl....com/p/jewel-central.html) and QJV (http://queensjewelvault.blogspot.com/).  I'm not sure how good The Court Jeweller is (http://www.thecourtjeweller.com/) but at first glance they also appear to be a good resource.

I would love to see Camilla wear the Durbar again, it looked great on her.  Maybe since this is a big visit-first visit of new Emperor-maybe she'll pull it out this time.

I didn't know Camilla's family had their own tiara. Does she come from aristocracy? Sorry for the OT.

Yes, they are both good - when you looking for really obscure stuff The Court Jeweler is better - like some of Princess Anne's jewelry.

I remembered the photo Paulina was talking about so just DDGed it for images. It does give us an idea of what Cams will look like in the Vlad.

Stopping now cause we're getting wildly off the topic.

Glad for the coming State Visit though!

Camilla has not worn the Vladimir. The tiaras have often been worn by a variety of royal ladies, such as the Papyrus tiara which has been seen on QE, Pss Margaret, Serena Linley and Kate.
