Princess Isabelle of France (1225-1270) was the daughter of King Louis VIII. She wished to form a community of Sisters minor. A new monastery was named the Convent of the Humility of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The nuns were called the Humble Order of Servants of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. Isabelle did not join the community.

Queen Eleanor of Provence (Queen Consort of England) changed her title when she entered the convent. She styled herself 'a humble nun of the order of Fontevrault vof the convent of Amesbury'. She did not choose to retire altogether humbly. She never became a fully professed nun.
