Charles and Diana wanted Victoria if they had used a girl if I remember correctly. Sarah and Andrew were told they couldn't use it, then wanted Annabel for Beatrice. The Queen shot that down.

I think the Chapel Royal is a good choice. It is a beautiful church, would require minimal in security investment and the trip down the Mall and back would be easy.

Maybe she'll wear a Victoria necklace or Teck tiara or necklace (the teck circle necklace/tiara, not crescent) to honor previous weddings.

^not sure if still in collection,  but drool!!

Even though I keep my fingers for Queen Mary's sapphire bandeau tiara

No need to fly flag on Prince Andrew's birthday, councils told

The British government has changed the policy of flying flags on royal birthdays, with local authorities no longer required to raise the Union Flag for Prince Andrew.

Officials earlier said they were considering how the policy applied “in changing circumstances, such as when members of the royal family step back from their duties”, according to a spokesman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The government later said it would be advising councils “that there is no requirement to fly flags on the 19th February following the decision by the Duke of York to step back from public duties for the foreseeable future”.

The Sun newspaper had published a leaked email sent to local authorities reminding them to fly the British flag for Andrew’s 60th birthday on 19 February.

...

Designated days for flying the British flag on UK government buildings include the birthdays of the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, their wedding day, the birthdays of their four children and of their grandson Prince William and his wife Kate.

...

A spokeswoman for Westminster Abbey said the Duke’s birthday would still be marked by the traditional ringing of bells. “There are no plans to change these arrangements,” she said.

Queen Victoria, her daughter the Crown Princess of Prussia, and King George & Queen Mary were married at the Chapel Royal so there's plenty of good family dust history to throw into the news stories.  😉

I believe Bea also had her Christening there

It will be interesting to see what flowers will be used to decorate the Chapel Royal.

Me too!  No matter the current state of family affairs, I love a wedding.  Can’t wait to see the dress, flowers, attendants, etc.  I wish it were more public and on the scale of Her sister’s, but whatever - just can’t wait to see another royal wedding!

Not trying to be a party pooper, but wondering if it might not be a good idea to start a Bea wedding thread and leave this one for general York news?

Excellant idea, provided Maria agrees. The engagement thread had to be shut because of OT comments.

Maria shall we give it a try now that we have a date and place?

Princess Beatrice's royal wedding is just around the corner, and her sister couldn't be more excited.

Today, after the royal family announced that Beatrice's wedding date had been set, Princess Eugenie took to Instagram to say how "proud" she was of her older sister. She shared an adorable childhood photo of the two of them taking part in their former nanny Allison Wardley's wedding, and added a sweet comment.

I love how close the girls are. It's really sweet and genuine and seems to have helped them survive those nutty parents fairly unscathed.

Officially the capacity is 150.

Pretty smaller than Eugenie's wedding, which had 800 guests...
