It’s pretty amazing that they can remove, restore, and rehang that wallpaper. When we bought our house we removed wallpaper from the dining room and it was a nightmare. Not the same, I know, but it’s really cool that they can save it.

In the end, I painted right over the wallpaper. It came out fine. You just have to set the nail heads where they have popped first.

A steam cleaner comes in very handy for wallpaper removal, along with a nice sharp putty knife.

I have the steam cleaner as I'm allergic to fragrances - it's great.

That said I do find it amazing what they are doing with the wallpaper at Buck House. It also clues people in on why refurbishment in any house of that size and vintage - where restoration is as important as renovation, are so costly.
