Buckingham Palace is an overwhelming building in London! I have been there many times as a tourist and I am always amazed by the variety of the city. But apart from the obvious sights, the city offers so much more that you wouldn't notice at first glance.
If you want to plan a successful city trip through London as a tourist like me, you can inform yourself on the following website:

https://www.travelspring.de/staedtereise-london/

It helped me a lot to plan the perfect Trip through the city and to see places i never thought about visiting!

By 1828 John Nash had spent 496,169 pounds at the changes to Buckingham Palace, far above budget.

The Queen's unseen secret rooms at Buckingham Palace

https://www.hellomagazine...gham-palace-secret-rooms/

Not all secret, and not all rooms, it's still an interesting and informative read.

Most offbeat - the ATM in the basement.

It doesn't matter how old you get, buying snacks for a road trip should always look like an unsupervised 9-year-old was given $100. Anonymous

The ATM had me laughing!  The BRF supposedly don’t carry any cash, right?

They don't carry cash on official visits and the Queen never carries cash but some of the others, especially the younger ones like Catherine. In addition there are a lot of staff who not only work in BP but live there.

It said that the ATM was reserved for the royal family and that’s why I posted what I did. Of course the staff would need cash - because the family won’t carry it!

Maybe the staff insisted on the ATM being put in...so the royals could repay them easily for the times staff have to pay out when on official visits as the royals don't carry cash Grin
