My crocheting adventures have been unmitigated disasters. I think it's because I lose track of where I am and I always lose count. I once made a rainbow shawl that kept getting longer and longer and longer and longer and longer and narrower until it dragged on the floor in the back.
I'm sorry I do so badly at this. At knitting I am marginally OK if I'm knitting something that's flat and rectangular, so I can make pretty good scarves. My Norwegian grandmother, who came from Selbu, could knit an elaborate two-colored patterned sweater while walking behind the cows as they were being driven up to the summer pasture. Me, I'm the queen of the garter stitch and that's about it.
Now quilting is another story . . . . That I'm good at. But I don't think I'll ever be a yarn goddess. No way.
