As already mentioned in the Felix thread in response to that picture including Alex:

I think it's fantastic that the whole family, including Alexandra, seem to get along so well. Compared to photos of the DERFs, this seems to radiate more warmth, connection, etc.

Princi, I am not so certain they always get on so well:  while searching for the latest investigation into you-know-who about you-know-what, I came across this head-scratcher of a clip.

The two ladies might have had their differences, who knows, but the three adults involved have always put their offspring's wellbeing first, and the two sets of children seem to have bonded very well.  Smiley

I don't think that this video show Alex not liking Marie or pushing her aside...what I see is simply a mother, who wants to have a fair share in her son's celebration.

Marie putting her arm around Nikolai must've been too much for Alex. After all he's still her son, not Marie's.

The most important people in my life are my parents, my niece and my best friend. I love them both. But there have definitely been moments where you could have caught me looking looking annoyed be or around them. That's normal and makes them human. We can't expect Marie and Alex to be sunshine and roses every single second around each other, because that is unrealistic for any relationship, especially one of their nature.

But is is clear that they get along reasonably well, and if they do secretly dislike each other, they do an excellent job of hiding it for the sake of Nikolai and Felix, and that is worthy of praise because it shows they are able to put the kids ahead of dislike and petty disagreements.

Well described.

It seems to me that they are relatively good with each other, which IMO was also shown when Alex and Felix took little Henrik to Tivoli (without the presence of Marie and Joachim)

We often saw Martin with his arm around Felix and Joachim never felt the need to push him aside.
I do not know of any reason why marie and Alex would dislike each other though.

Happy birthday to Felix - gonna be a stunner !

Alex didn't touch Marie when she walked behind her. It may have been awkward briefly for Marie after Alex joined the photo, but there's no pushing or touching going on behind Felix's back.

So many iPhone typos but I'm glad the message came across.

No matter how much you like someone or respect someone, they will do little things that annoy you. No relationship is 100% rosey all the time. I wouldn't read too much into one of those potential moments when we have plenty of evidence to show they generally get along.....or at the very least, do an excellent job of faking it for the kids.

I admire how mature they all are about the definition of family and how they seem to have set it up so that the kids feel that they each have three siblings not that they each have one sibling and two half siblings if you know what I mean there is a distance implied with the latter and I think the parents have all been great about erasing that division as much as possible. I'm sure she is Aunt Alex for the little ones and that is a wonderful example of inclusiveness.
