Wow, Bea is lookin' good. Clearly marriage and motherhood agrees with her. And that is a rather sharp-looking coat, I have to say.

I love Bea’s hair - the shade, its body and curls, it just suits her.  Agreed on the coat and her appearance.

Bea is the wef thing apparently

Today, Scale hosted a panel in partnership with @jpmorgan at #wef23. Moderated by HRH Princess Beatrice of York, the discussion focused on AI-powered progress across industries, geographies, and governments.

Through my career, I have been an advocate of technology, AI and education converging. Today I had an opportunity to be on a session with HRH Princess Beatrice of York and the amazing Salesforce UK CEO - discussing a better ecosystem for accessible education.

Nice to see her with Sophie. It’s interesting that the family seems kind of tight behind the scenes when the impression  - I feel - have been told that they aren’t a close family.

I feel annoyed that Bea jumped on this train of being important without the responsibility that comes from being a working royal. Who or what does she represent? I don’t believe for a second that she’s competent enough by herself to be a voice in such forums. If it’s only for her HRH that she’s there, that’s a shame.
If the institution wants them to take on a few charities, they should say so. If not, I am not more interested than if it was an irrelevant Mrs. Mapelli Monzi (and Mrs. Brooksbank.)

If Bea had her druthers, she would probably be a working royal.

After she had completed University, Bea, and by extension Genie, Louise and James were told they were superfluous. Charles wanted a slimmed down monarchy consisting of only his siblings and his descendants. That is what he wanted, and that is what the UK now has, with HLM's elderly cousins grandfathered in.

Both Bea and Genie are involved with charities which appreciate having them as sponsors. Nothing wrong with that, many people of a certain stature are patrons of various charities.

Both of the sisters must have been representing non profits as Davos is invitation only and costs a lot for the initial membership and the annual ticket to the conference. Government employees, non profits and media representatives get in free.

Bea and Genie receive nothing from the Sovereign Grant nor do they have RPO's.

The media is in a flux love/hate relationship with them.

I know all that, Mylady, it’s just that… it’s mixed signals. I don’t blame the charities that use the girls’ notoriety, I blame the institution itself for allowing this unclear situation.

I don't understand the problem. They asked her to be a part of their efforts and she accepted their invite. We really have mixed feelings about the Yorkies. I like that these peripheral royals can lend a little stardust to efforts that (hopefully) shape the world in positive ways. It's a nice and modern solution to not being a working royal but giving back. There seems to be a family imperative to do so. What likely needs to happen and it won't is that Buckingham Palace needs to put out a clear understanding of who is and isn't a working royal and what is allowed as a non working royal regarding patronages and reimbursements and all that and most especially a clear breakdown of who gets what money for what work and security and how that is funded because surely everyone thinks that Queen Camilla to Prince Michael of Kent is on a high taxpayer-funded salary with full security all the time. Clarity is needed.

Ah. I understand.

As Peri said, it would be helpful if the BRF clarified exactly who is and is not a working royal and who receives what from the SG, and who gets protection and under what circumstances.

It would also help to clarify that Genie and Jack pay a competitive rent for Nott Cott at KP. It's not a freebie or even pro rated.
