While pillbox hats have been around for a long time, I thought a little homage to the lady who really put them on the map was in order. . . .

Betty Ford, in her autobiography, described Jackie's pill box hat and shift dress/suit wardrobe as epidemic. Everybody wore it.

As to the royal ladies, I think Mathilde wears it best, with Max, hair up, coming second. Pill boxes don't look well, to me, if your hair is long and down.

I really like pillbox hats. I think they complete an outfit nicely and don't make a big look-at-me statement.  But then, I was young when Jackie Kennedy was such a fashion icon and I think that most of the trends she started still look pretty terrific today.

I love pillboxes, but far too many are either too big or too small. And then there is the white one above on a certain person that looks far more like Nurse Betty than Jacky Kennedy...

I definitely think the pill boxes that are to big look awkward, you can see that on the Meghan one as well as some of the Diana ones. I never liked that cream square one on Catherine, it didn't seem to match the coat colour and the shape just seemed odd. Mathilde and Max wear them every well.

Agree; Kate really should stay away from them because they don't work well with either her features or her vibe.  But Mathilde and Max look amazing in them, and  Secret I'm not even a big Max fan  Secret

It’s the hairstyle and overall head size  that’s the problem with pillbox hats on some people. Kate is just too sleek & long in the head, face, and chosen hair styling.

Other European royal women definitely pull them off and of course…Americas Queen Jackie O with the bouffant hair is the archetype for that style hat.
