As much as I love art, cheers to a non-art related outing!  Love the shades of green on her, and I like this length of hair a lot.

Ugh I hate the scarf. It’s a Linus flashback. She’s doing so well recently, I just wish she didn’t look so sloppy! I love the green pants on her - jewel tones are definitely her friend - so even a full suit in that color would be really fun and look more put  together.

Love that shade of green on her and her hair looks nice but the scarf makes her look like she’s uncomfortable with her body right now.  Overall, nice look for christening a train!

I've thought the same thing for a while. She seems to want to hide her body. If true, I hope she finds the confidence to not give a damn.

I don't mind the scarf. I like the colour scheme and the idea of a green st with a crisp white blouse. The pashmina is soft and cozy and she likes them. However I do mind those pants.
I detest polyester and I think it looks horrible the way it hugs and accentuates the slight bulk at her hip/thigh - so unnecessary!

Steph needs a stylist/dresser.

It is painfully clear that Steph has no style or interest in fashion and that is fine.

This is where a stylist/dresser would come in handy, they can craft a working wardrobe in line with Steph's preferences.

Also, stylist will do the leg work of getting the right fabric, ensuring the right fit  and pairing the right accessories so that all Steph has to do is choose the capsule for each event.

As had been said it is clear Steph has no interest in fashion and maybe she is very body conscious otherwise a jacket would have finished this outfit off well but maybe she feels to restrictive something that would be a bit more fitted. I just keep trying to remember MT use to look a bit of a mess IMO in the old days but was at least making us all think she was nice back then whereas now she looks better but acts like a diva. I'd rather see Steph dressed like this - presentable but not great and being kind than go the route of her mother in law.

Obviously we don’t know for sure, but it seems like Steph doesn’t have it in her to be that mean, conniving and self centered.  I think she looked beaten down until Charles came along, and I hold out hope that she’ll get it together eventually.

I think Steph just can't get out of her shelf. It's more than not caring (also it has gotten better since Charles' birth).

I'll have to guess here: But to me Steph has this - all is useless attitude.

Like: Why should I do anything (wash my hair, wear appropriate clothes), when nothing changes? (I mean in regards of her fil and mil). I think Steph is intelligent enough to know that something is deeply wrong, but she's not the type for fighting.

I mean shortly after Charles' birth it seemed like she had gotten it...now she's back to wear it started (although with a smile on her face) - there's more wrong in Luxembourg than the clothes of the Hereditary Grand Duchess.

To be honest, Steph was a bad dresser even before the engagement.
And her all is useless attitude never occurred when she met other royals, then she always managed to doll up, at least by her standards. Strange, isn't it?

MT is out of Luxemburg most of the time and thus shouldn't bother her much. But whatever trouble there might be within the family, out of shear respect for the ("ordinary") people she meets, she should do the most basic grooming. If she was a normal employee and would represent her company at a fair in a sloppy outift, she would be in serious trouble, family problems or not.

Masako certainly had a hell of a time for many years through the imperial household (plus Michiko obviously wasn't a supportive MIL), but when she appeared in public, she always looked neat and appropriate.

Here’s a radical thought. Maybe Stephanie wears what she does because she likes it. Maybe Gui tells her she looks beautiful. Maybe she likes what she sees when she looks in the mirror.

You know that makes me kind of jealous.

Think about it by any objective standard Steph looks throwed however, all Gui sees is the most beautiful woman in the world.

I wouldn't mind a life partner who sees me through those beer goggles.

I wonder if her apparent disdain for dressing up all the time is in part due to her noble background.  I often read that people in the UK who have aristocratic roots/titles stretching back centuries are the ones with the messy houses, sloppy clothes, older vehicles, etc. because they have nothing to prove, whereas the more nouveau riche wealthy are the ones who are more consumed with appearances, labels, etc.  Of course that may not even be true for Britain, but I do wonder if it may be kind of true across the board.
