Oh, I had, among other nice things, a beautifully illustrated book about the wedding of Charles and Diana. I remember every single picture but the book itself has disappeared long ago. It was the time of her early British fashion - windmill collars, pussy bows, salmon ensembles, crisp ruches, electric blue block stripes and clown hats. She could pull of ANYthing, she was so graceful and radiant with just the right amount of shyness. I remember that as a girl, I was sad she always had short haircuts - it was too modern for my taste, not princessy enough. She had such wondderful thick hair - imagine what a plait she could have had! :-)
I totally believe during those times the monarchy was not only much more popular, loved and respected compared to today but we knew more about the royals because I felt like they opened up more a bit good and bad.

Yes  . . . sigh . . . Cry

Of course the fashion and hairstyles of the time really suited Diana - she was luminous.

Hi always thought Nancy Reagan was tiny, but she’s not that much shorter than Diana, who was around 5’10. No idea why I thought that.

The dress size was "tiny" for both of the ladies

I think Nancy was only 5’4”.  But Diana was hunched over in a lot of those photos.

It was always interesting to me that Diana’s posture improved tremendously after the separation.

I liked how she started wearing more heels, too. It was good to see her become more self-confident Beer

Exactly. She cut her hair, threw back her shoulders and strutted!  It was fabulous to see.

Diana looked like a true princess with the blue dress. Victor Edelstein truly made Diana look and feel like a princess.

Diana with her Chanel bags

This is a gorgeous colour which really suited her.  Not that she ever looked bad in anything I ever saw her wear in photos!

Diana was the very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty. All over the world she was a symbol of selfless humanity. All over the world, a standard bearer for the rights of the truly downtrodden, a very British girl who transcended nationality.

On June 8, 1989 Princess Diana received the Freedom of the Borough of Northampton.
