To me they all seem so glum and so scruffy. They certainly do not look like a royal family to my eyes.

Only at the one castle? Flags in Australia were at half mast throughout the country.

Perhaps the difference in status / relation to the UK and such?

As Australia is a federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy, with Elizabeth II as Queen.
She isn't queen or such of Denmark Wink

That’s as happy and engaged as I’ve ever seen him. I hope he can get out from under his parents’ thumbs.

He just seems like a nice kid to me. There is something about him that reminds me of Willem-Alexander and Philippe - kind, affable people.

Good way to put it CJT. Thankfully he doesn’t seem to take after his parents very much.

Both Derf and Mosh are very underwhelming to put it kindly, but I think Christian could turn out to be a great king when that day comes, hopefully MANY years from now. He seems like a nice young man. And he looks much brighter than his parents.

He seems friendly, engaged and awake (something his father has not been since roughly 10 years) and not stuck up (unlike his dear mom). We will see what happens.

The upside for Christian is that he is of the age where rebellion against the parents is a teenager's raison d'etre.

Luckily for him, rebelling against his parents means he will strive to be a good, well- educated, well-bred, driven individual who appreciates the position he was born into and puts duty first, self second. Unlike his parents.

Christian dressed nicely for a church service - I count that as a win.   That he dressed nicely, attended a church service, with his elderly grandmother, win-win-win.

Plus it's just plain nice to see one of the Derf children with their grandmother, without the parents sucking standing by.

Yes, he seems nice and he seems close with his parents - I remember a picture from not so long past when he had his arms about his mother. Not so many teenage boys will do that Smiley
