Because I apparently have too much time on my hands, here are the photos from Holger Reedtz-Thott's christening in 2006.

Is it just me? I’d never physically kiss someone else’s tiny baby.

First, that’s not a tiny baby, its gotta be 3-4 months old. Second, not just any baby, clearly a close friend who has asked her to be godmother (I don’t know who these people are). I kiss my friends’ babies.

It’s probably really difficult to say in this case which is the right way to do it because it’s about personal boundaries. I’d be hesistant to kiss someone else’s baby if I didn’t know how the parents felt about me doing it. But if they were okay with it, I’d absolutely do it.

The woman who babysat my daughter (day care thing) for the first couple of years asked us when my daughter started at her place, how we felt about her kissing our daughter. We told her it was okay because kisses and snuggles are just so comforting (especially for a small child with no language) and honestly, as a parent it made me really happy that the woman taking care of my baby while I was at work would provide her with nicknames and snuggles and safety when I there to do it.

Really depends on the baby. Obviously I wouldn't kiss a child I am not close to, and sadly while I love and adore some of my nieces and nephs and kids of friends, there are others, I just can't warm up too - no matter how much I like Mom and Dad. Never could. Same with dogs btw. Some fur babies and babies are cute enough to cuddle, some just drool.

You know, Hes... you make a good point. She was never particularly cuddly with her own kids. At least, not in public.

She's not actually kissing the baby.  It's a quick nuzzle with her nose ... But judging by Mary's demeanor in the other photos of the event, she was only playing for the cameras anyway.  Man, talk about camera hungry eyes!

Yrma launched a new digital project on nature
On the UN's World Biodiversity Day that takes place on May 22, 2021, the WWF World Wide Fund for Nature and Yrma launched a new digital project on nature that aims to bring Danes together to share their nature photos and experiences under the hashtag #ForNaturenWWF on Instagram - preferably with a short text about where it was taken.

The project will end on June 11, 2021, and kicks off with the theme ‘Forest and Land’, and every Saturday a new theme will be started.

Yrma and the WWF World Wide Fund for Nature experts will comment on selected photos. Thus, WWF's experts will contribute to the project with exciting stories about the different places, animal and plant species that the Danes have portrayed. The background for the project is, among other things, the Red List 2019, which shows that Danish animal, plant, and fungal species have not improved since 2010 and that many species are still at risk of extinction.

Yrma took office in 2020 as president of the WWF World Wide Fund for Nature, a position held by the late Prince Henrik for decades. Since then, she is at the forefront of the foundation's work to preserve the animals' habitats and the diversity of nature.

I wonder if she'll do like Victoria and take hikes through the different provinces of Denmark to spotlight the nature and scenery?  That was such a lovely undertaking of Victoria's; I loved following it.  Would be cool if other royals did it, and this seems like a perfect reason for Mary to do it.




I know this is Mary, so I doubt very much she'll do it, but one can hope for a new leaf to be turned over...
