I think this is really lovely - it seems like something she might've done anyway but very royalty appropriate and a nice way to get involved. I do hope that these kinds of things are helping her feel content and settled.
Also, is she super tall or is the other woman just sitting down or pretty petite?

Nice work, nice ribbon. I'm really glad that Delphine is able to bring attention to causes she cares about. The Belgian RF and Delphine seem to be handling this strange situation really well

https://www.nu.nl/media/6...g-zou-niet-blij-zijn.htmlLoosely translated as: Belgian princess participates in Dancing with the Stars, king would not be happy
Princess Delphine is participating in the Flemish version of Dancing with the Stars, Belgian television channel Play4 reports. She forms a duo with the Dutch dancer Sander Bos and will compete with other Belgian stars in the dance competition.
The new-fangled Belgian princess has little experience with dancing. "My know-how is limited to a few, often uncomfortable, dance steps at weddings and receptions. I have no idea how to start studying a real dance, where technique forms the basis of everything."
She is looking forward to "becoming a worthy dancer step by step" with her dance partner and other professionals.
According to the Flemish royalty expert Wim Dehandschieter, this news was received less positively by King Philippe, Delphine's half-brother. In particular, he would not be a fan of the frivolous nature of the dance program, the insiders at the court know.
"There it is judged that the frivolity of an entertainment program does not suit a member of the royal family. He must behave royally and with dignity," writes Dehandschieter.
Training missed due to coronavirus infection Delphine had to skip a large part of the training sessions last week because she was infected with the corona virus. She has now recovered, but still feels tired. "Meanwhile, I've already lost 36 hours of dance training. As a result, I'm a bit behind now, but I'm certainly not throwing in the towel. On the contrary."
The princess will compete against, among others, gymnast and Olympic champion Nina Derwael, actor Maksim Stojanac and sexologist Lotte Vanwezemael. The new season can be seen on Belgian television this autumn.
Delphine is an illegitimate daughter of the previous King Albert II. She was officially recognized last year after a long legal battle. She has already completed her first duties as a royal relative. For example, she took a seat next to her family members during the Belgian national holiday in July.

For example, she took a seat next to her family members during the Belgian national holiday in July. This is a little disappointing. Delphine has the right to do what she wants, but participation in a televised dance competition for someone who fought so hard for a Royal title and for acknowledgment as a member of the family, does seem a little silly & frivolous. I don't mind when "celebrities" do this but for an HRH, well ... Maybe she's still got legal fees to pay off and the show is giving her a big payday?

Hmm, not really sure what to think of this to be honest. In one way- she can what she wants so good for her. But in another it has the potential to look like she is benefitting from now having a royal title. I can understand Philippe being upset- if indeed he is- as he has gone out of his way to include Delphine in the national day and other events- he may feel that was simply giving her a bigger PR profile to bag good jobs.

I feel the same, kind of conflicted but coming down on the side of this not being a good look for her. I've always given her the benefit of the doubt in her reasons for pursuing recognition, but if fame and fortune were the end goal then I'm going to be quite disappointed.
Princi, thanks for the pics of EF on DwtS, he's so trashy it's almost comedic. Gave me a good chuckle.

I agree with the general thought here - just seems a bit tacky for someone in a reigning house, and especially after Philippe has worked to include her in things. I’ve questioned her motives before and this doesn’t make me think they’re as simple as she’s madd them out to be.

I've not known how to take Delphine and her desire to get a title for herself so comes at a bad time as we don't yet know her true intentions. This makes it seems her intention is to have a title to help boost her PR. To be honest, the more I think about it the more I think she'd treated Philippe badly. Fair enough if she was treating Albert badly but Philippe is innocent in all of this and has tried to do the right thing. The fact she didn't tell the Palace until well after she'd decided to take part shows it all IMO.

This could be a fun, innocent thing to do, but I am very surprised that Delphine will appear on Dancing with the Stars before Tessy, Maria-Olympia, or even, the Shaman
