He's a cute baby. I think he resembles both parents, and I see a little bit of Gabriel in him too

What happens with these duchies bestowed on the royal children and grandchildren? Do they get to pass them on? Are there enough duchies to go round?

I believe that they’re for life and that there are 21 counties in Sweden so my guess is 21 duchies possible. With CG still having his and Maddie having two (why I’m not sure) that should mean that 13 of the 21 are in use.
Personally I think they should have thought this thing though a lot better. Perhaps limiting the full thing to just children of the monarch and future monarchs (so Victoria, Carl Philip, Madeleine, Estelle, and Oscar or 7 duchies in use) and done just Prince/Princess of Sweden for the rest. Even with potentially haven given the rest an HRH it still makes a delineation between their “importance” for lack of a better word.
Stripping the HRHs in 2019 was a knee jerk response to concerns over the number of royals. More forethought could have prevented the need. I get why they gave all the grandkids titles but clearly it wasn’t necessary and had it been necessary decades in the future then the reigning monarch could have granted titles then.

What a beautiful, sweet baby! Exactly like his older brothers!!!
I like the name Julian - but I find it a bit odd choice for a prince, it reminds me more of a Disney prince.

I did find a prince Julian from the Barbie universe. Having an unusual name myself at a time when unusual names were reason enough to be bullied mercilessly, it doesn't bother me greatly when people give their children unexpected or unusual names.

Young Julian is a bonny baby, and I am always appreciative of a nice picture of the new arrival.
That being said I had been hoping for the name Erik. Ah well.
Congrats and blessings to the family!

He is absolutely adorable and I love his name! Not what I was expecting at all but most of the Swedish grandchildren have unexpected names.

Julian has been in the top 100s in Europe from the early 2010 till 2020.. I found a webpage that listed Julian in the 98-81 spot in Sweden in 2013-2015. In the German-speaking countries like Germany, Sitzerland and Austria it was way more popular: it hit the top ten in Ch and the top 20 in A and D for several years... In fact most of the -jan names have been extremely popular like Sebastian, Florian, Fabian or just Jan...
