Is it wrong I just assumed he'd make it to his 100th?

I can't think of the words to say.  RIP and hopefully he passed on peacefully.

My thoughts of condolences, and prayers for strength during grieving for QE, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

He didn't always say or do the right thing, but he was a force of a nature. God bless.

It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

~~

While not really surprising given his age and health issues, I still exclaimed "No!" What an amazing life of service. God rest you, sir.

Same here.  Rest In Peace Sir.

Just seen the shocking news when I popped open my Instagram upon waking up.

I feel terribly for HM, in particular. I could only hope to be married for such a long time to Lord W but then I couldnít imagine how it would feel upon losing a spouse after so long. It must truly feel like losing a limb.

What a long, full life he led. I'm so sorry for HM and the family for their loss, but glad that he got to spend his last weeks at home and not in the hospital.

The old lion is dead" - telegram sent by one of Theodore Roosevelt's sons to his brothers, who were overseas.

What a life!!  What a man!!

He had a long and rich life, but it's still very sad that he's died. I'm glad he was able to be at home for the end, surrounded by things and people familiar to him.

It does feel like the end of an era

It was the first thing I saw when I opened my phone this morning. I know he was 99 but it still makes me very sad. Isnít today Charles and Camillas anniversary? Poor Elizabeth. And I know itís trivial but with the virus I guess he wonít get the pomp and ceremony funeral he deserved. Heck he probably didnít want a fuss though.  Cry
