The best crowns are kid-made, I think. And usually the classroom statue of the BVM isn't al that large, so the crown isn't much bigger in diameter than, say, a wine glass. I've seen bluebells strung on wire, Cecile Bruenner rosebuds attached to a wire circlet using flora tape, and even daisy crowns made by slitting the stem for a short distance, and sliding the stem of the next daisy through the slit and so on. Sometimes really little kids will even make dandelion crowns. But no store-bought florist-made crowns, OK? That kind of defeats the purpose of this being a children's devotional practice.
