Did anyone else see the 18 year old Tunisian swimmer win the men's 400 freestyle last night from lane 8? Absolutely incredible. His reaction so sweet and genuine!

I did. Aside from rooting for most of the USA team, my favorite is when someone unexpected wins or someone with a unique or sad story or limited resources. I love the Olympics. This time change is killing me though. Either I move into a cave with no electricity or the media is determined to ruin every event for us.

For this Aussie the time zone is perfect - 10.00 am to midnight and as I am in lock down and a sports nut this is the closest I will get to heaven in this life. The problem I have is two channels plus streaming so having to pick my sports to watch but with adds, talking heads and replays a lot of the time I am able to see most of the sports without knowing any results.

You’re lucky because everything here is ruined. I got up at dawn to watch Suni so I could see it live on the NBC app. It’s a mess trying to watch here. The next gymnastics event I want to see is at 3am Saturday morning.

When I was younger I would follow gymnastics, but in later years I got less and less interested. I have to confess I am a person who doesn't watch much sports.

That is what happens for us when sports or anything else is on in Europe and especially the Americas. Having to go to work when the US open tennis is on is annoying.

That was amazing!  Good for her for stepping up and performing on a global stage under unimaginable pressure.

I used to follow the Winter Olympics for the ice skating and skiing events, but I kind of drifted away from it as well.   Loved Grinkov and Gordeeva, boy that will date me ...

I loved them too! I first started watching figure skating when Dorothy Hamill was skating. And gymnastics with Olga and then Nadia.  After Nadia gyms exploded in the US. I went to one called Sportopia for two years. Then I hit tall and lost my balance.!

One of my favorite childhood memories is watching the Olympics. I used to compete on a Synchronized (now Artistic) Swimming team and was so annoyed that it took so long to be recognized as an Olympic sport.

But I loved the gymnastics and swimming in Summer and the skiing and skating in Winter.

I do really hate what the IOC has become though, making women compete in what are basically thongs and, Moore’s, the horrible grifting at the expense of the countries bidding to host.  I hope after the disaster of these games things will come back down to earth and the games will become games again.

Beer I read some of her interviews and she is just gorgeous inside and out!  And that's a 13 year old record that Tatjana broke. Just wow!

Congratulations to Suni and the US!  Thumb up She was without peer on the uneven bars: a treat to watch! So sorry to read about her dad. Her fantastic win must be a bright spot in  difficult two years for the Lee family.
