She's got the Kate Hands of Enthusiasm going on here.  I remember being in high school and walking by my crush and turning to my friend and becoming super-animated with my gestures so he'd think I was interesting and he'd be curious as to what I was so enthusiastic about.   Roll Eyes  Obviously that didn't work as an attention-getting strategy then, but I am reminded of it whenever I see this over the top double-handed gesticulating.

The defensive posture in her table companions - including defensively holding up menu cards and sporting glazed smiles - is hilarious. Mary is doubtless a crashing bore- which is an odd combo with faux Latinate extreme hand gesturing.
