In 1913 Princess Alexandra, Duchess of Fife married Prince Arthur of Connaught. She engaged the services of Felix Barolet of Knightsbridge to design her dress of white charmeuse satin.

Arthur Silver of the Silver Studios designed the wedding dress for Princess Mary of Teck's 1893 wedding.

Máxima married in a wedding dress by Valentino, a design by the founder of the Italian fashion house: Valentino Garavani. He was no stranger to designing a bridal gown for a royal wedding. Valentino also designed the dress of Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece and that of Princess Madelaine of Sweden.

The bride wore Valentino haute couture – the house Instagrammed this sketch of her dress – accompanied by a diamond tiara, diamond and pearl earrings and cascading veil.

In 2005 there was the wedding between Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles (Prince of Wales).

Camilla wore a white chiffon dress at the civil wedding, with a long silk cloak over it. Both were designed by the design duo Robinson Valentine.




At the church wedding, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, again wore a gown and cloak designed by Robinson Valentine

English designer Sarah Burton, creative director of the luxury fashion house Alexander McQueen, designed the bridal gown worn by Catherine Middleton at her wedding to Prince William on 29 April 2011. The bridal gown was made of ivory and white satin. The tow is 2.7 meters long. The lace overdress, made of handmade lace, features roses and daffodils. The lace was made by the Royal School of Needle Work at Hampton Court Palace.

Mary Donaldson and her groom Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark got married at Copenhagen Cathedral on 14 May 2004. Mary opted for a  ivory gown by Danish fashion designer Uffe Frank, made of duchesse satin and lined with silk organza.

On April 24, 2004, Prince Friso of the Netherlands married Mabel Wisse Smit. It was celebrated quite soberly in the Oude Kerk of Delft in connection with the death of Princess Juliana, Friso's grandmother, who had died more than a month earlier. Mabel proved her quirky taste and style with her Viktor & Rolf wedding dress. The dress is made of satin, has a fitted bodice with bateau neckline and a flared skirt. The decorative bows are applied all over the dress and increase in size towards the train. The ensemble has matching shoes in the same satin fabric. Four people worked on the dress for almost 600 hours. The garment is trimmed with 246 bows and bows.




Viktor & Rolf (stylized as Viktor&Rolf) is a fashion house led by the Dutch designer duo Viktor Horsting (1969) and Rolf Snoeren ( 1969) with theatrical fashion shows and extravagant clothing collections.

On 14 February 1981, the religious wedding ceremony for then Henri, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg to Cuban-born María Teresa Mestre y Batista in Notre Dame Cathedral took place.

For the ceremony, Maria Teresa chose a bespoke gown by the French house Balmain. The white silk, intricately patterned dress featured a fitted bodice and bell skirt. Her sleeves had white fur around the wrists – matching the white fur around her neck and the bottom of the skirt.

So I’ll preface this by saying IMO as I’m sure others will not agree....

I thought Grace and her dress looked beautiful.... and well made

The Valentino ones .... definitely not Maddie as the ruffles were awful

Max and MC ... well made ... no bad seams

Most of the others bland or bad

Di .... bad did not fit and fabric hopeless in terms of standing up to a car ride

Kate .... no bland at best and the Madonna bustier was awful.... and the low v neck was better suited to someone that had some more oomph in the neckline

Mary ... the puckered seams and the heavy fabric just swamped her .... something more floating would have been better
