I am glad of it. Her birthday mostly went by unnoticed!

I like this dress a lot, but why a necklace that no one can see?
Is the brooch new?

I just saw this post on Mary’s birthday gift from Queen Margrethe on the Court Jeweller. Apologies if this was already posted…it might have gotten lost in all the birthday photo shoots.

Queen Margrethe gave Crown Princess Mary pieces from her antique diamond and turquoise jewelry collection: the diamond and turquoise earrings and the diamond and turquoise brooch

The book that's just come out on the Danish Royal jewel collection looks absolutely delicious  Icecream .... I wish I could read Danish.

Ooh thanks!  Fun pictures to look at.  Star

Question:  What does "give" mean in this context?  (I feel like I'm channeling Bill Clinton, "It depends on what the meaning of "is" is"   Laugh bounce)

Give = they are now her personal property and if she leaves the DRF she can take them with her?

Give = she now has permission to wear them and only she can wear them?

Interesting question! Because the stones are semi-precious I assume they were a true gift. Practical Marge will want to ensure some nice royal pieces make their way to the descendants of the non-hier sibs, so maybe she’s feeling generous from a dynastic standpoint.

Wow, that was interesting - she seems personable, relaxed, nice, in the interview.  Quite different (to me) than her stiff/posing, clothes-horse persona ... Thanks for posting it.

Is her Danish still weak, I can't tell that?

Her behaviour has definitely improved in recent years. I think ageing in the public eye is probably humbling.

What?  I thought she just turned 60!  Actually, she doesn’t look a day over 70 …

LOL, what also helped me mellow towards her, is that I too have aged....
