He and his troops had a kamakazi approach to the Asia Pacific region and the deaths were horrendous. I went to the camp in Singapore with a friend who had a relative held there ...... he was part of the Evil Axis and IMO should not be remembered in any positive way at all

Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended New Year's poetry reading ceremony.
The Utakai Hajime Imperial New Year's poetry reading ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The theme of this year's "waka" poems was "mado" meaning "window"

Yes, and beautiful color! She looks lovely. The other royal ladies look very nice as well.
I like the lace applique collar (it's a bit too long though) and the color of Masako's dress but I don't like the velvet fabric.

I would have liked a closer look at the beautiful rich red gown Kako is wearing here.

Kako attended the 31st Forest and Flower Festival
She attended the 31st Forest and Flower Festival's (Midori no Kansha-sai) event titled "Greenery Thanksgiving Day" at Iino Hall in Tokyo. That became the first public activity of Princess Kako since November 2020. The Princess took over the honorary presidency of the Festival from her sister Mako Komuro who got married to Kei Komuro and moved to New York.

She must feel so lonely. I hope she can meet Aiko and have a laugh together.
