Vasily I (1371-1425) was the Grand Prince of Moscow from 1389 to 1425. The growing influence of Moscow abroad was underlined by the fact that Vasily married his daughter Anna to Emperor John VIII Palaeologus of Byzantium.

After occupying Haylych in the early part of August 1189, Vladimir II Yaroslavich requested his uncle Vsevolod III Yuryevich to support his rule and in return promised to be Vsevolod's loyal vassal.

Tsar Ivan III ruled that princes who had been granted lands as an appange did not pass them to their descendants. They instead reverted to Ivan.

Sviatoslav reigned as Grand Prince of Kiev from 945 to 972. He preferred to dress in white. It was noted that his garments were much cleaner than those of his men.
