May 30Yrma laid the foundation stone for “Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital – The Kingdom for Children, Young People and Pregnant Women.”The Mary Elizabeth's Hospital - The kingdom for children, young people, and pregnant women, named after the Crown Princess, will be Denmark's highly specialized hospital for children, young people, mothers, and their families, where specialists come to the patient rather than the other way around, and where play becomes an integral part of the children's treatment.
When the new, 60,000 m large hospital is scheduled to open in 2026, there will be room for 900 patients and their families as well as approximately 1,200 doctors, nurses, midwives, and other staff.
Hospitalsbyggeriet is a partnership between the Capital Region of Denmark, Rigshospitalet, and Ole Kirk's Foundation with a total budget of DKK 2.8 billion, of which Ole Kirk's Foundation donates 0.7 billion Kroner.
