Glad to hear she is back in Monaco! Hopefully the time in treatment was good for her and she's feeling a lot healthier and stronger. I'm happy for the kids to have their mom back and in a better place.

This is just too funny!  She's married to a Sovereign -- he just can't pick-up and move to another country.  In addition to the fact, that the children  .... well ... forget about it ... it's Char and she never really grasped the meaning of anything!

Since all of Carolines children are well educated (all have high level college educations) and cha cha is nothing but an 8th grade drop out that is clearly a failure in her role I can see how she would be intimidated by others that have been successful in their lives. No doubt she is always the dumbest person in every room and knows it,  yet hasn't made any effort to better herself.   Caroline is a much better roll model than she is on every level.  She didn't even try to be a good princess, she sulked, pouted and sleep walked through every event, not even pretending to be interested or concerned about her role or the people around her. 

  Her raising them alone would be a huge mistake.  I hope Al isn't manipulated by her.  She's a mess, why would you let your children be exposed to her "weaknesses" .  Their lives and roles are in Monaco. What is she going to groom them to be?  Wearing designer clothes, ignoring their duties, dropping out of school in jr. high,  wasting their lives,  selling their womb to the highest bidder, globe trotting and playing on a beach.  What a joke. He needs to send her back to the "wellness clinic".  She's still thinking crazy. 

JMO the children and Monaco are (and have proved during her over a year absence) better off without her.

This thread is turning ugly Charlene obviously isn’t book-smart but she was a successful and skilled athlete which counts as being successful IMO Also we have no way of knowing how the Grimaldi’s and Caroline’s children would have turned out if they weren’t part of two rich families. Stephanie ran away to join a circus IIRC. She and Caroline are mostly known for their scandalous private lives. It’s great to see their children and private life work well but that certainly was not always the case.

Also I find it reflects extremely poorly on the board to write about a person with obvious serious mental and health issues that they’re “thinking crazy” I would think most here were beyond stigmatising people with mental issues like that. Take it elsewhere. We sure don’t want to host discussions like that.

I don’t pretend to know what’s going on with her mental state to judge this situation very well. But, from a cursory glance, there seems to be a simple answer to her fears.

Stay in Monaco with your children so that you and their father are the influence and not a pushy Aunt?

I hope she can find peace and somehow work things out so she can be there with her children. As LW said, she and Al should be the hands on parents and not an aunt. Yes, encourage them to be close to all of the family, but be their mom. She seems to have had a rough time of settling in to the Monaco royal family, of course, a lot of that is Al's fault.

Char has my sympathies, truly.

But if she thinks she can raise the twins outside of Monaco then her ignorance of her situation is staggering.

Al the man may want to do everything for her and give her everything she asks for but he is also Al the sovereign and he needs to do what is best for Monaco and abide by the constitution/customs of Monaco he will not have a choice.

And I have to defend Caro here, it seems that she is the only one that has her eye on the twins' future and is prepared to act in order to give them the skills and the tools to cope with their future responsibilities as working royals. She may be pushy but she is coming from a place of grim reality instead of wishful thinking.
