Oh dear...
Groningen, being far away from the rest of The Netherlands (very, very relatively speaking), is the uni town where students hardly ever go home-home for the weekends.
So it's a fun place to be 7 days a week.
It is a very popular (and logical, distance wise) choice amongr the Pomster's set. I'm looking forward to their stories about "the middle sister's" antics, if and when....
As for her becoming a member of a student club (similar culture as fraternities/sororities, but no such thing as chapters, just one big (1000+) co-ed/mixed club with tons of tradition and various subdivisions and chapters and yearclubs, she is probably wise to avoid Vindicat and join Albertus.
Tidbit: I went to highschool in Groningen and RAN as soon as I graduated. Went to uni far away from there, great choice. Also hilarious and lovely to go to school reünions (as a class of '86).
In the region where I come from, Groningen was a popular choice since many years. Not because of the city and all, but because it was relatively close. Somehow a common choice to study in Groningen. One of my uncles met his wife, originally from the province of Groningen, in this way.
