Fred served in the Navy, correct? Did he do anything to commemorate Remembrance Day? Will he be head of the armed forces like most monarchs? I think (unless pics just haven't been posted yet) that it's pretty poor form for him not to attend any wreath-layings/moments of silence/etc.
Remembrance day is not observed everywhere in the world. In Denmark Veterans' Day is on 5 September. That is good to know; thank you! I was under the impression it was observed throughout all of Europe on 11 November. I still have no respect for him, but I will not add this to my list of reasons I don't like him!

Def. not all over Europe. Germany e.g. doesn't either. The day of national mourning (Volkstrauertag) is tomorrow (always on a sunday 2 weeks before the start of advent) and then there is also Totensonntag, which is a week later. The first is to commemorate veterans and all those who perished or suffered in the wars. The latter is to remember all the loved ones you have lost.

Fred looks more comfortably suited with winner .... Fre is wearing chukkas or boots ?? Makes his pant legs look This pantsuit makes Mary look washed out when it's against this white background. It's a mish-mosh (pun intended). She should have just worn an evening suit. This thing is just looker-me and ugly with it.

From what I remember it is a serious celebration of respect of those who lost their lives as part of the Allied forces of WW1 or were part of that. We always marked it... silent at 11.11am. Today it also recognises those that came afterwards in WW11 and other conflicts

In Germany the Carnival season starts at 11:11 on 11.11 with a "Helau". Not very solemn...

I do love learning all of these traditions about different countries and I appreciate the posters who take the time to educate us (educate me!).

It's the 7th anniversary of Prince-Christian-almost-drowned-or-did-he? Let's-blame-it-on-an-Aussie-lifeguard-gate!

Looks like a better performance and effort than what the real team managed against underdogs Australia...what a lousy game and leaving with one point...

Those are really cute photos. The trio look happy and relaxed together. Fred really does have a winsome smile.

Either Fred’s been on a savage regime or he’s been photoshopped!

Denmark was playing so poorly this time. Can't believe two years ago they were in the Euro final.
