This grayish polka dot dress looks summary and fresh, like the shoes too.  So far the only outfit I don't like is the evening dress,  too dark from head to toe, a necklace or a large brooch (she had worn a large flower diamond brooch before) would have helped.

The US first lady was worried Letizia was going to wear the same white pant suit for the dinner and have a fashion clash

Ugh, how could Jill Biden wear a white pants suit to a dinner at the palace ?  Not black-tie dinner, it's true, but for me it looks silly against the frocks (it seems) all other ladies present were wearing.

I'll forego comment on Brandon and his grip on Letizia's hands.  Except for  Crap

I think the white suit looked nice and it was 'dressy'. The guests will have been told what sort of clothes are required and surely staff will advise. Dr. Biden dresses very well I think.

Regarding Letizia's hands, in the foto I saw she was gripping the President's and she seems quite comfortable. Leti does not hide it when she is not comfortable or is annoyed.

Yesterday I saw a funny story that the Bidens should call their newest dog 'Brandon'   Grin  The whole FJB thing is so stupid and childish I think.

I think Dr Biden looks very professional and represents the US well on this occasion. I don't see any problem with how the President is greeting the Queen, either. The Brandon nickname was uncalled for. I'm so much happier he is there than TFG Mr Tiny Hands.

To be fair to Jill Biden, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commissioner also wore pants.  There were no many ladies in attendance, some wore frocks, some pants.  All good when it was not a black-tie dinner.

Indeed.  which is why I qualified my opinion by saying "it seems" other ladies present were all wearing frocks.

As for commenting on what people are wearing, given the "seriousness" of the occasion -- I've never really taken these gatherings very seriously.

Life would be more enjoyable if we made it our business to help others enjoy it.   Unfortunately, most people (and politicians) are too busy being self-aggrandizing.

Leti looks great  Thumb up
Glad she repeated her Tous pearl earrings

From what i've read, Jill Biden's espadrilles were a gift from Begoña Gómez (wife of Spain's PM).

I have always said that royal women should not wear black to official events - unless the outfit is a little black dress which shows some skin (legs, arms, neckline). More than that and it looks too somber. The black overwhelms and the wearer doesn't stand out. Every other first lady wore not-black and they all looked better than Leti. However, I do like the style of this dress. It looks elegant, classic, 50's style. Imagine it in sapphire blue. The only thing that helps the outfit are the shoes. The cutouts "lightens" the look.

I also like Leti's La Granja outfit. Perfect for the occasion and the season. Funny that half the First Ladies are wearing espadrilles. Cute that the First Gentlemen are there too.

This black dress didn't look good at last year's PoA awards, but since  Leonor was the center of attention, so it didn't really matter what clothes mom wore. But this time Leti really got lost in the group picture of leaders in dark clothes. I agree most of the 1st ladies at the dinner dressed better than her including Dr. Biden with her white pantsuits. I was hoping she could get a good stylist and someone who could also help her manage her clothes budget wisely. I guess it's impossible. She will always end up with one of the worst.
