https://nos.nl/artikel/24...president-trump-overleden

Loosely translated as:

Ivana Trump, first wife of former President Trump, dies

Former model and businesswoman Ivana Trump has died aged 73. Her former husband, former US President Trump, reports this.

"I am saddened to announce to everyone who loved her, and there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away in her New York home," the former president wrote on the social medium Truth Social, which he founded. "She was a beautiful and wonderful woman who lived an inspiring life."

A professional skier in Czechoslovakia, Ivana was able to get outside the Eastern Bloc, where she married an Austrian skier, whom she soon divorced. Donald Trump married her in 1977, a year after they met at a model meeting in New York.

They soon worked together on several large real estate projects. In the years that followed, they had three children: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump.

The disputed divorce of the New York duo in 1992 received a lot of attention in American media. The New York Times reported that Ivana Trump ended up getting $14 million and several houses from her ex-husband, on the condition that she wouldn't talk to anyone about the details of the divorce. Donald Trump had an affair with Marla Maples since the late 1980s, whom he married in 1993.

Ivana also married twice more. Her fourth husband, Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi, died of skin cancer in October last year. He was 49 years old.

'She embraced America'
"Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled communism and embraced America. She taught her children to show perseverance and toughness but also compassion," Ivana's family told ABC News.

After her divorce from Trump, Ivana founded her own fashion brand and wrote several books. She continued to live in New York but, like her former husband, spent a lot of time in Florida.

Both former President Trump and Ivana's family have not disclosed what caused her death.

RED: wasn't Ivana one of the inspirations for The First Wives Club (both the book and movie)?

I loved her divorce line..”Don’t get mad, get everything…” And she did too. She cleaned his clock in the divorce and he would be the first to admit it.

I felt a little twinge when I heard this.  I sure wouldn't call her an icon or anything and I didn't admire them, but she was a big part of "The Donald's" success in the 1980's.  He wouldn't have gotten the traction he did without a partner like her and they made a powerful, talked-about couple in that era.  His next wives seemed like dimmed bulbs next to Ivana.  (Probably he preferred that.)

So,  Champagne that's for you Ivana, R.I.P.

I don’t know much about her and I don’t care at all for him and his children but I can’t imagine that it’s easy to lose your mother so my sympathies go to their children.

I remember hearing about her divorce settlement --ONLY $25 million (total value).  Everyone said she'd been shafted --until he declared bankruptcy (the first time) shortly thereafter, and then we were like "Oh, she was very clever!"  Her sister-in-law Blaine Trump was also very much in the society pages in the 80s and 90s, and she seemed classier than Ivana.  Who knows what goes on behind closed doors, but Ivana really did very well for herself.

They announce her as a model, but she was a world-class skier back in Czechoslovakia and earned a master's degree in physical education at the University of Prag.

She was smart, educated, and very witty, only the universe knows how she came about marrying Trump. Very strange...According to the examiner, the cause of Ivana’s death was "blunt impact trauma". She died in an accident as a result of suffering blunt impact injuries to her torso, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said. She was found dead in her Manhattan residence.

Too young to go. RIP.

The blunt force could be from a fall from the stairs sort of like Bob Saget?

The DM has several articles on the funeral today.  Barron is HUGE.  Even Tiffany attended (looking smug or at least jovial).  The paper already had all the designers and prices for the ladies' clothes.  Lara (I think) has a dress with a kick vent (back slit) that stops just short of indecency.  What a weird bunch of people.

A YT live report of the funeral:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R33ngXH3398

In the comments a lot of political and pro- & anti-Trump comments.
Including someone who says that Trump had mentioned Ivana's passing on his social media, with underneath a button to sponsor/donate money to Trumps campaign.....

I would think so ... maybe a blackout or similar.... I presume she had staff so I doubt there was anything that looked out of place
