Glad he's using Charles III. Going by another name would be so confusing.
Long live the king!
And yet I understand why he would want to avoid it, the past 2 Charles weren't nice reigns at all. In any case, I have always wondered why both HM and Prince Philip chose that name for him.
I have always thought that it was the Queen Mother's dominating influence, being born the daughter of a Scottish peer; and that had either of her children been a boy, he would have been a Charles. Margaret Rose was supposed to be Ann(e) Margaret, but old George V shot it down. So I think that QEII was pushed from a young age into naming the first child of each gender Charles and Anne. Just a theory.
Back to the original topic, it's nice that he's going to lay the old Stuart ghosts to rest. There have been enough Georges since 1714.
