The leek makes the lewk. She looks great the red is a nice pop the hat is wonderful. Is there something incongruous to others as to me that the heavily tailored coat is combined with a very voluptuous softly presented hat and feminine detailed gloves? Opposites attract and can work but this is a little jarring in the way the black gloves with the chiffon dress was. Good but off in a way that is hard to describe.

They both need to do better.... the huge increase in income doesn’t work for me .... more more more expensive clothes and replacements on teeth is so .... “how wonderful are we” but I don’t think they have any idea

Thank you Aubiette for always keeping us informed with their goings on. Where would we be without these pics and speeches etc. Nice to have something to show us what they are up to.

Thank you Aubiette for keeping the Wales' threads updated. I hadn't realized that William received his A level results while training with the Army in Belize. Hard to believe that was nearly 23 years ago.

Short article from 2000 about his training exercise with the Welsh Guards.

God, this style of coat is so unflattering for William. Poor guy.

Kate looks nice. I want to like that her hair is up, but something just seems off with the hat and the chignon.

Someone upthread called for a leek brooch, and TA-DAAAA, here it is.

Her coat coordinates with the red liner of the battalion's coat - nice touch. Not sure about the hat, though.

I like Kate’s chignon but she never wears tendrils when she wears it up. Not that tendrils would have worked with this headpiece, but tendrils do soften your face a bit. While she is trying some new trendy ideas with clothing, I hope she tries some new hairstyles too. And I’m not talking about cutting it per se, but high bun, half up half down, ponytail braid or French braid…

Thank God she doesn’t. For me they look sloppy.

It’s Welsh red?

Kate looks great, this is a proper, super visible, super royal outfit. Minor quibbles for me on the hat and the bag (goodness me I think I miss the clutches!) but overall she looks really good. I hope the Welsh Guards St David's visit becomes a regular occasion like the Irish Guards St Patricks Day engagement

Kate has had those gloves for ages - she wore them to William's passing out ceremony back in 2006

The fashion SM folks have both yesterday’s and today’s coats as new bespoke McQueen.

Yep -she already has a long red Alexander McQueen coat, but I think that one was a slightly darker shade and had four buttons, not two
