With all that's been going on in in the last year, I really can't blame them for releasing older pictures. While the one in the tree is nice, this wins the prize for me:

Meh…it’s their Christmas Card photo…same outfits. And the photos were old even then.  I’d like to see something new but I suppose we have to wait until May.

If you see a woman over 40 with dark hair and no grey, she is coloring it.

My black-haired mum got her first handful of grey hairs in her late 40s…

YMMV: I turned 55 yesterday and I've until now have found maybe 5 short, grey hairs. I started off as a (strawberry) blonde and my hair has been slowly getting darker, to the extent that it's now darker than my older sister's - to her shock and amusement, since she was only light blonde as a child. We both suspect I'll end up with almost black hair like our dad, who as a child had snow white locks :-)

Well reddish hair often turns beige-y like colourless sand instead of grey.
But while it is not completely unheard of that some people keep their hair colour longer than others, it is rather normal to turn grey in your forties: some are way earlier, some are way later. But to be fair, if you see a woman in her mid to late 40s who hasn't got grey in it -- she colours. And nothing wrong with that.

Some people have white hair rather than grey and my mother never went grey she was brown until she died... but the tone faded

Also, grey hair grows faster than all other hair colors. I have read that some women, including beautiful actress Andy McDowell, just embrace the grey because keeping up the color isn’t that easy. But whatever color Kate or any lady wants to keep her hair, it’s their business.

I started with a few grey hairs in my thirties. It's rather a stunner when you first see them. Even now it's only a quarter grey. Like Andy McDowell, I've just gone with it. One of our nieces has chosen to do the same. Nothing wrong with coloring or streaking your hair either.

I did have one lady of my acquaintance who had the most lovely silver white hair, and it stayed thick and luxurious until she passed away in her eighties.

I have a family friend that she start greying at 18 by her 30 she was snowy white, her original was dark brown and every two weeks she had to go to the salon, eventually she became blonde because it was easier to maintain now that she is closer to her 40 she is thinking about leaving them show.
I think white hair is a combination of genetics anxiety and alimentation. Nothing that Kate could do except color them
