It's wonderful that Scotland is playing such a strong role in the transition of one monarch to another. This was a very Scottish monarch with a deep love of that country. I'm please for the Scots that this is all happening there. Reinforces the union too.

I thought the whole family would attend. But it's obviously only her children and their spouses.

It is smart and controlled even with the silliness about the uniforms to have only children and spouses at this point. The actual funeral will be next Monday with all the descendants. I like this smaller and more familial and intimate ceremony.

LIVE: Queen Elizabeth coffin transported in procession to cathedral for Edinburgh service. The Queen's coffin arrived at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh today followed by her four children on a sorrowful journey through the Scottish capital lined by hundreds of thousands of mourners who stood in silent revelry punctuated by the sound of gun salutes from the city's castle. Led by a lone piper from Balmoral playing a lament, Her Majesty was carried from the Palace of Holyroodhouse where she was lying in rest since a six-hour journey from her Aberdeenshire home yesterday.  As the national anthem played the coffin was gently lowered into the hearse, watched by a visibly emotional King Charles and his siblings, Anne, the Princess Royal, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, who then marched dolefully for 1,200 yards behind their beloved mother.  The Duke of York was not in military uniform like his siblings after Her Majesty stripped him of his titles because of the Epstein scandal. He was briefly heckled during the procession. Police Scotland said a 22-year-old man had been arrested.

I know it's not a fashion show, but Camilla and Sophie looked spectacular. They would have done the Queen proud, as they always did.

I still can't believe that the Queen is in that coffin. It feels like an extended nightmare where I'll wake up any moment. I keep expecting her to appear as part of the ceremonies and stuff. Silly, I know. But it's so hard to believe that she's gone.

Just a comment on the control the rider had on her horse who wanted to behave badly during the procession to St. Giles. I believe Scotland has done a remarkable and heartfelt job of honoring The Queen.
