Prince Joachim’s descendants will thus have to be addressed as excellencies in the future.
All four grandchildren maintain their places in the order of succession.

I am shocked, but it is in line with other RF are doing, to slim down and limit titles to one on the direct line of succession.
Honestly, I do think Joachim maybe prefers it this way. He moved to France to explore other opportunities, and even if it was not by his choice, they seem happy there. Gives this children liberty to pursue their careers without the "Prince/Princess" looming around. There is a lot of people that claim Nikolai only become a model because of title, not talent, for example.

Possibly the right decision but made at the wrong time in a typically undiplomatic, possibly cruel way.
I'm not sure Henrik and Athena should have had the titles in the first place - the line of succession was pretty much sorted through the Derf family by then, but surely this could have been handled better? It's the Paris move all over again.
Plus, this desire to streamline the DRF is fatally undermined by a Crown Prince who cannot undertake his core duties without considerable support.
