Unlikely. Elizabeth will have to marry a Catholic, I'm sure.

I don't think the Belgian constitution demands she must marry a Catholic (indeed he first King Leopold I was Lutheran) but I suspect she will.

He could convert. Mary did it, Sofia of Spain did it, even people further down the line like Autumn Kelly did it. And the previously seemingly atheist Letizia was suitably devout in time for her wedding.  They’re all Christian after all, so it’s not a massive leap.

I don't think the Belgian constitution demands she must marry a Catholic (indeed he first King Leopold I was Lutheran) but I suspect she will.

Leopold III married Astrid of Sweden.  Astrid was raised Lutheran and converted four years after they married.  She initially wanted to convert simply because Catholicism was the religion of Belgium but the (Catholic) priest she consulted said that she should only convert if she believed the faith.

So it wasn’t a concern back in the late 1920s.

Obviously when there’s a constitutional requirement that someone marry within a very faith or be raised in a certain faith things are far more complicated but otherwise I do prefer when it can be someone’s personal journey rather than an expectation forced upon them.

As far as a I know, Maxima didn’t actually convert. She agreed to be married and raise her children in WA’s religion, but still attends mass.

Does Maxima still attend Mass? Haven't heard anything to that effect. I know she did not convert and that in fact the wedding was ecumenical and yes, the kids are raised Dutch Reform. But I haven't seen any photo of Max at mass or any other specifically function ever.

Saw on social media that the family have bought a new house in Denmark.

I ran this article about it through google translate and it’s quite a fun run down of their new neighbors and has a picture of their new fence and a bit of their roof. https://www-seoghoer-dk.t...=wapp&_x_tr_hist=true

It sounds like it’s a road along the coast where on one side houses have access to the beach.

I would gladly accept an invitation to dinner at the Schack's. Good company and, from what I see, excellent food.
